A Note from the Principals
Dear Washington K-2 Families,
We loved seeing all the orange on Unity Day this week! It was a wonderful reminder of what makes our school so special — a warm, caring community that stands together against bullying.
We’re also so grateful for you and our amazing PCC as we gear up for tonight’s Pumpkin Patch Dance Party and our first-ever Bottle & Can Drive — a friendly competition between the K–2 and 3–5 schools! As shared last week, the losing principal has to dress like the winning principal... so please help me avoid sporting a beard and send in those bottles and cans!
Thank you for your continued partnership, enthusiasm, and support — you make our community shine!
Warmly,
Stefani Wasik, Principal
Mary Lynn Freedman, Assistant Principal

Weekend Backpack Program
We are here to help if your children need food for the weekend!
The Franklin Public Schools have partnered with the Franklin Food Pantry to provide bags of food for students for use over the weekend. All children enrolled in Franklin Public Schools are eligible for the free weekend food bags. The list of students who participate is kept confidential to appropriate school personnel, and the names are not shared with the Franklin Food Pantry.
The bags contain a variety of child-friendly foods, enough for your child to have two breakfasts, two lunches, and two snacks. Some examples include granola bars, cereal, oatmeal, protein shakes, shelf-stable milk, fruit juice, fruit bowls, snacks, rice and pasta.
The bags will be distributed to students in a discreet and caring manner and will fit in their backpack. These bags will be distributed weekly though the end of the school year.
To sign your child up, please contact the school nurses at 508-541-2135 or by email at goulde@franklinps.net or richardsonk@franklinps.net.
Please remember to include your child’s name. No other paperwork is needed.
*All Franklin Public Schools students are eligible*
