Reminders for the Week
I just wanted to send out a few quick reminders:
Morning Drinks:
Students are welcome to bring coffee, smoothies, or other drinks in the morning or when returning from an appointment. However, these items must be finished in the commons before going into the gym or classrooms. We’ve had quite a few spills lately, which creates extra cleanup for our custodial staff.
Extra Items and Backpacks:
We’ve noticed students bringing a lot of unnecessary items to school—especially blankets and overstuffed backpacks. Please remember that blankets are not allowed at school unless it’s our all-school movie day on the half-day before Winter Break.
Take a moment to go through your student’s backpack with them and remove any items that aren’t needed for the school day. Encourage them to use their lockers to help keep things organized.
Absences:
If your child will be absent, it is the parent’s responsibility to contact the office by 9:00 a.m. Please do not email teachers directly about absences, as they are busy with classes and the message doesn’t always make it to the office.
ASAP:
As always, this is an option for your students to get support on missing work and to get their grades brought up. We have ASAP from 3:30-4:30 pm Monday-Thursday. Reminder: Students who have 2 or more Fs are not eligible to participate in or attend school activities.
Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly!
A Message from our IT Director regarding chromebooks-
We have seen an increased amount of Chromebook damage this first quarter. Most of these can be avoided with a little extra care taken when handling our devices. Be sure to store properly, do not close anything in the Chromebook between the screen and the keyboard, and please do not eat or drink over the device. Also, be sure to use the provided charger as other chargers may not be the correct voltage and can cause damage to internal parts. While the tech fee does cover the initial incident, any damage after will be at the expense of the family. A replacement screen is $170 - $200. Damage to a board or internal systems can result in a full replacement charge of up to $325. These devices can serve the district for many years if they are taken care of correctly. Please take some time to discuss proper device care.
If your child has lost or misplaced their charger please contact the office so they can purchase a new one- students must return the school issued charger at the end of the year or pay for a new one.
