The Johnson Early Childhood Center is thrilled to be the recipient of an impact project which will provide our students with a new bilingual communication board for our playground. Fostering a more inclusive environment for our students is an important part of our school’s vision and mission.

A huge shout out to SLPA, Mrs. Colburn for working to secure this exciting opportunity for our students. We were selected as 1 of 18 in the state of Massachusetts. The board was funded by Bilingual SLP at a value of $2000.00. We proudly look forward to it being hung for our students to use out on the playground.

LifeTouch picture day is on October 25, 26. Your child's teacher has sent out the schedule for their classroom.

Black and Orange Days will be celebrated on Monday, 10/30 and Tuesday, 10/31.

Safety Reminders:

• Anyone picking up your child that we have not met needs to be sure they have an ID with them. We will not release your child to anyone not on the pick up list and without and ID.

We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.

Parent Council provides many opportunities for you to connect with other parents and become involved in the Johnson ECC school community. Parent Council supports our students and teachers with educational programs, supplies, and more. Parent involvement is the foundation for school success. Have a suggestion or a talent to share? We want to know!

The next meeting is on Monday, November 6 at 5:30 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend in person or via Google Meets.
