MT's purpose is to educate and empower students to become responsible citizens.
A Few Words From the Principal
It was great to see so many of you over the last two days. Thank you to all who came and spent some time with your student's teachers and allowed for us to share with you how their learning adventure has started this year. Through many conversations we learned more about our students and started building that partnership with you. If you were not able to attend conferences or you would like to meet with your student's teachers, do not hesitate to reach out to them with an email. They will work on scheduling a time that will work for everyone to meet in person or via Zoom.
Wednesday is another opportunity for you to come to MT and see the learning that has been happening this year. We will have our first quarter Showcase Night from 4:30 - 6:00.
8th grade Explorers: Caught Being Amazing, Spelling Champs, Kindness cards
7th grade state map scale projects.
6th grade will have their I am Projects, and I am Poems on display.
Leadership students will have their Animal Personality Posters on display
Reading Extension will have their Author Hoodies out for everyone to see
Art students will have art throughout the building for you to enjoy
Mrs. Landry's students will have their aircraft designs, skimmers, and Rescue Bots out for your enjoyment.
This is also a great time to check your students organization with a peak in their locker and seeing their organization of their binder(s).
We hope that you can take advantage of this opportunity for your student to show off what they have accomplished this quarter.

School Fees Now Available to Pay
With the transition to Skyward Q, posting of school fees was delayed until after the year began. Fees have now been posted and are available to pay several different ways - either in-person with cash or check or online through e-Funds (step-by-step guide is attached). If you would like to discuss fees or set up a payment plan, please contact the office and we'll be happy to work with you. Thank you for supporting our school and your student's learning!
All student athletes are required to pay the Catastrophic Insurance fee of $7.63 as part of their student fees. This fee is required by the district regardless of personal health insurance coverage. If you have not already done so, please make sure this fee has been paid ASAP so that your student's ability to compete is not affected.
MT Conditioning Program Starts September 29th
The MT Conditioning Program is for any student (6th-8th grade) wanting to work on their strength and conditioning. Students meet after school from 3:15-3:35, starting Monday, September 29th. See Coach Webb in Room 306 if you're interested. More information is available on our website and to download the information packet, including the signed parent permission slip and Voluntary Participation form that are required before students will be allowed to participate. Students may return the two forms to Coach Webb or the MT Office.
1st Quarter Showcase Night - October 1st
1st Quarter Showcase Night is October 1st from 4:30-6:00pm. Each quarter, MT hosts a Showcase Night, which is an informal come-and-go evening for parents to stop by with their student and see what's been happening at MT. Student work and projects will be on display throughout the building for you to view. This is a great opportunity for parents to engage and connect! We hope to see all of you here!

Immunizations
The Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) and the Meningococcal vaccine dose 1 are required for 7th grade students. Documentation of Immunizations must be turned into the school by the 2nd Monday of October, October 13, 2025. If vaccinations are not completed, students may not attend school after that date until the required immunization is completed.
Please contact MTMS school nurse with questions.
Please use the following link for USD 232 Vaccination Policy and Requirements: https://www.usd232.org/departments/health-services/policies-screenings
Illness
Please report any symptoms of illness to the school. Please be specific - report symptoms such as sore throat, nausea, fever instead of reporting “ill” or “sick”. Giving symptoms helps with Health Department Reporting and to see illness trends in the district.
Remember students are to be fever and/or symptom free 24 hours before returning after an illness: https://www.usd232.org/departments/health-services/policies-screenings
Seasonal Allergies
Allergy season continues! The nurse’s office doesn’t supply medication for seasonal allergies. Please have your student take allergy medication at home. There are several over-the-counter medications available that work 24 hours. There are over-the-counter-eye drops made especially for allergies also available.
