REMINDER: Parent pick up at the end of the day! REMINDER: Parent pick up at the end of the day!

Maple Grove Families:

We encourage all families to prepare in advance to pick their child up early from school by sending a note to bring to student services and receive an early dismissal pass. If you do have an unplanned pick-up, please be to the main office by 2:30 to guarantee we are able to get your child from class.

Thank you!

Congrats to the students at Maple Grove Middle School for accomplishing the fundraising goal of $20,000. As a reward, 3 students from each of the top winning advisories were randomly drawn to silly string Patrick Smith, Jen Hinker and Jason Olson. Make sure to ask your student about this event as it was live streamed throughout the school for all classrooms to watch😊 Many thanks to Laura Muhlstein for organizing the fundraiser and celebration events.

Thanks again for your generosity towards Maple Grove Middle School.

Opt-out Information & Universal Screening Opt-out Information & Universal Screening

The purpose of this communication is to inform you that students in grades 2-12 will take the mySAEBRS assessment this fall and again this spring. The mySAEBRS assessment, which stands for Minnesota Student Academic Behavioral Rating Scales, is student self-evaluation. It provides valuable insights into areas such as social skills, emotional well-being, and behavioral strengths and challenges. This assessment helps us gain a more comprehensive understanding of your child's needs, allowing us to better support their growth and development. For more information about assessment items and questions asked click here. If you would like to opt your child out of this assessment, please complete the Parent/Guardian Refusal for Student Participation in Districtwide Assessments/Testing linked on https://www.district279.org/academics/assessments.

Join us to learn about events and initiatives happening at MGMS!

Next meeting: Monday, January 13 @ 7-8 PM (online only)

We are taking a break from meetings for the holiday season but will be back in January!

Event Information and Volunteer Opportunities

Tell Me About It

Thanks to a grant from the District 279 Foundation as well as volunteers generous with their time and talents, 8th graders will learn about skilled trades jobs on Nov 21-22 through the career exploration program “Tell Me About It.” Interested in talking to middle schoolers about your career? More opportunities will be announced over the next few months.

Winter Wear Drive

Today is the last day of the Winter Wear Drive. Thank you to all who participated! Donated coats and other winter wear will be offered first to MGMS and other district students in need; anything remaining will be donated to community assistance organizations.

Volunteers are welcome and appreciated throughout the year! Check out an overview of events for this school year, and pledge your support today!

Advocacy

Learn about ISD 279’s 2024-2025 legislative priorities and contact your legislators to ask them to support the priorities you’re passionate about.

PACT Meetings

One of the best ways for parents and caregivers to know what’s going on at MGMS and positively affect the school is to attend a PACT meeting. PACT Meetings are held once a month (except March and December) from 7:00–8:00 pm. 2024 meeting dates are posted on the website. There is always an online attendance option; some meetings also occur in person.
