And the Special This Week is...
Time to be Ready for Anything!
Oh the Weather is so Delightful...
Please remember to send your child with clothes for all weather. It is very cold in the morning and warms up in the afternoon. Also, it can be wet in the morning. Please send your child with a change of clothes, just in case.
Math and Karaoke
Francestown Elementary School came together for a festive celebration of learning and the holidays on Thursday afternoon. The entire school gathered for a lively karaoke sing-along, blending holiday cheer with academic fun.
Students were randomly chosen to answer math facts tailored to their grade level. Those who answered correctly earned the chance to pick a holiday song to sing. As the chosen students performed, their classmates joined in, singing and dancing along, filling the room with joy and energy.
The event highlighted the school’s Lion PRIDE values—positivity, responsibility, independence, determination, and empathy—as students and staff came together to celebrate in true FES spirit.
December Outdoor Lion's Learning!
Over and Under the Snow...
On December 19, 2024, Francestown Elementary School celebrated another Outdoor Lion’s Learning Day, immersing students in hands-on exploration of winter ecology. Students searched for evidence of life in winter, investigating questions such as where animals are during the cold months and whether trees remain alive. Their discoveries were complemented by cozy moments around a campfire, where they toasted marshmallows and cinnamon buns while sipping warm apple cider. Indoors, students collaborated in teams to craft detailed dioramas of the subnivean zone, illustrating the hidden pathways and habitats animals use to navigate and survive beneath the snow.
PRIDE Meeting and Community Lunch
Francestown Elementary School recently came together to celebrate our wonderful community. The event began with a recognition of our Lion PRIDE values, followed by a heartwarming all-school sing-along. Students, staff, and families joined voices to sing holiday songs, creating a festive atmosphere. The celebration concluded with a viewing of The Polar Express, bringing joy and excitement to all.
Wishing everyone an amazing holiday season!

Before and After while Being Watched by Elfie Jr. 2.0
We had another great week in 1st and 2nd grade! We started our week with learning 100 more and 100 less and subtracting numbers bigger than 10. We wrote letters about Elfie Jr. 2.0. and what he has been up to you, as well as our daily word work and handwriting practice in literacy. We ended our week with Polar Express Day!
Have a wonderful holiday!!!!
This Just In from Ms. Parisi
Under the Snow and So Much Fun!
This week Ms. Parisi's class prepared for vacation by doing fun holiday crafts and sing alongs. We had fun making subnivean zone terrariums at OLL, and read the book Over and Under the Snow by Kate Messner to go along with it.

A Word From Mr. LaGraw
This week in PE, students had a great time using the skills they’ve learned throughout the year, including throwing, dribbling and shooting in basketball, as well as soccer techniques. We wrapped up this week before break with some exciting activities on the rope and scooters. Wishing everybody a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season!
