Dear Parents and Guardians,

As Thanksgiving break approaches on November 25th, I want to take a moment to celebrate you as parents. Your dedication, love, and support shape your family in such meaningful ways. This holiday is a time to pause and reflect on the blessings in our lives, and your role as a parent is undoubtedly one of them. May this Thanksgiving be filled with joy, connection, and the making of beautiful memories with your loved ones. You’re doing an incredible job—don’t forget to take a moment to appreciate yourself too! 🍁🦃❤️

Best regards,

Mrs. Comeaux, Principal

𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 "𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧" 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬!

During a recent Coffee Talk with Mayor White, VPSB Superintendent Tommy Byler, and Community Outreach Coordinator Kristin Moore, we addressed a key issue facing our schools: chronic absenteeism. It became clear that our schools need a strong push to improve attendance and support student success. That’s why we’re launching the "𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧" campaign, uniting students, families, local businesses, and community organizations to make a real difference!

𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥:

To reach a 92% attendance rate across all Abbeville schools for the second nine-week period. Achieving this goal will help students stay engaged, reach their full potential, and make the most of their educational experience.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞:

When a school meets the 92% attendance goal, celebrate with a special event to honor the hard work of students, teachers, and families. These events will showcase the positive momentum and the great things happening in our schools!

𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:

𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔: Make every day count by attending school regularly.

𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔: Support your child in overcoming any challenges that may impact their attendance.

𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒔: Help us foster a culture that values education and its positive impact on our community.

𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬!

We’re inviting local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to join us in making a positive impact. If you can offer rewards, like discounts or small treats, to students who achieve perfect attendance, email tommy.byler@vpsb.net

Your involvement can make a difference in helping encourage and motivate!

Join us in supporting our students and fostering a community that values education. Together, we can ensure every student has the resources they need to attend school consistently. If you’re interested in partnering, reach out and be a part of this important initiative!

We are so excited to continue to offer this wonderful technological tool to all of our students. Students will be issued a daily use Chromebook to complete activities; however, Chromebooks will remain on campus unless a need arises for remote learning.

Students must be in their homeroom no later than 7:23 to receive their Chromebooks in homeroom. Any student arriving after this time will not be allowed to go to homeroom to pick up their Chromebook (so as to not disturb that class). We appreciate your efforts in having students arrive at school on time.

Parents,

Due to safety issues, the drop-off and pick-up area is in the back of the school by the stadium. Please do not drop off or pick up students in front of the school.

Thank you for your cooperation.
