Weekly Update
Week of March 23rd-March 27th
Jaguars,
As we begin a new nine weeks, it makes me think of new beginnings (NOT counting down days until the end)
- green grass growing
- flowers blooming
- opportunities to reengage with healthy habits
- brighter skies to bring new activities
We have 47 more days to grow, stretch, and watch our students blossom into who we know they can be! 🌱✨
Our goal is clear: every student achieves at least a year’s growth and achieves grade-level learning. Some of our students are already gaining strong momentum, while others are not there yet. And that word yet matters—because it reminds us what’s possible.
This next stretch will require all of us to lean in with focus, urgency, and believing in our students.
- Strong Tier 1 instruction every day, every classroom
- Intentional small groups that accelerate learning
- Clear expectations and consistent routines that set students up for success
Now is the moment to raise the energy and tighten our practices. Stay grounded in what works, be relentless about expectations, and tap into each other’s expertise. We are not doing this alone. We will. We CAN. ONE TEAM. Jaguars!!
When we believe in what’s possible and act on it together, we create powerful results.
Research reminds us that collective teacher efficacy has one of the highest impacts on student achievement (1.57 effect size).
So let’s move forward with confidence and purpose—because we can, and we will, ensure every Jaguar achieves excellence. 🐆💙
Let’s keep our expectations high for every student. Continue to push their thinking by clearly showing them what exemplary work looks like and guiding them toward it.
Ask your students:
-
What strategy should I see on your paper?
-
How will you show that you’ve mastered the learning target?
-
How will you know when you’ve reached it?
When students can answer these questions and demonstrate their thinking, their brilliance shines. We're working toward helping every student rise to their very best. ✨
We are excited to visit your classrooms this week and learn alongside you!
JAGUARS-We WILL. We CAN. One TEAM. -GO JAGUARS!
Our BEST way to ensure our students learn grade level curriculum in maximizing engagement in Tier 1 instruction through:
1. Student discourse for ALL students, not just a few. (Turn and Talk, Cold Call and Choral Response)
2. Student Engagement for proof of thinking (Dry erase boards out for all digital work or use of journals to annotate or record thinking.)
3. Maximize learning through smooth routines and transitions
ROOMS- Create your ROOM by March 13th. Invite parents to your ROOM for communication by March 24th.
TTESS-SLO and Professional Goal
At this time of the year, teachers should have evaluated progress for students with the SLO goal in January (MOY) and marked that in the student portfolio in STRIVE.
By March 23rd, teachers need to evaluate student's progress with the SLO goal for EOY.
Why is this so early? Appraisers must conduct EOY conferences to review goals from March 30-April 21st
End of Year Reflecton forms are due in STRIVE by March 23rd. Within this form, teachers will reflect on the professional goal and how your actions impacted student success. Teachers will also evaluate the actions taken to support students in making progress towards the SLO goal.
Please ask your appraiser if you have any questions.

Our goal is to have 95% or better average daily attendance! Last week's average daily attendance was 93.48% which is a slight decrease from the week before 93.50%. Let's keep it improving.

Capturing Kids Hearts
Kindness is the character trait for the month of March!
Why focus on Courage?
- Courage encourages engagement. Courage helps students raise their hands, participate, try new things, and voice their opinions.
- Courage builds self-confidence. Courage is the choice to act. By doing something, students increase their belief in themselves and their ability to do difficult or challenging things.
- Courage can help reframe a negative. When something does not go as planned, or a student gets upset about a mistake or failure, courage can help reframe the event in a positive light.
Courage in Action:
- Encourage discussion and debate. Foster curiosity and empower students to formulate ideas and engage in respectful discourse and conversations.
- Celebrate failures. Create opportunities to reduce fear of failure and celebrate when students try something new, even if they are not successful the first time.
