I am incredibly excited and honored to begin this new journey as the principal of Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center. I’m thrilled to be joining such a strong, supportive team and to serve in a district and community that are deeply committed to early childhood education and family involvement.

My background includes a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's in Special Education, and a Specialist degree in Administration. I hold certifications in Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, and School Leadership. Over the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching preschool, kindergarten, and third grade for Hancock Place. Most recently, I served as the Site Coordinator for Hazelwood Early Childhood, where I worked closely with staff, students, and families to build strong foundations for learning.

Outside of school, I’m supported by my wonderful husband, David, and our two children—Alyssa and Bradley. Our family also includes two spirited huskies, Kiya and Casper, who keep life adventurous and fun.

As we begin this school year, I want you to know that I lead with both my heart and my head. My goal is to foster a safe, collaborative, and joyful environment where our staff feels valued and supported, and where our children are inspired to explore, grow, and thrive. Together, let’s make Doris Hoffman a place where learning is joyful, work is meaningful, and everyone feels at home.

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year! Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

Open House

We will then host our Open House on Tuesday, August 12th where you will meet your child’s teacher and tour their classroom and our building. Due to the amount of families attending during a one hour time frame, please try to abide by the 20 minute split sections based on the letter of your last name:

5:30-5:50pm A-H

5:50-6:10pm I-P

6:10-6:30pm Q-Z

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer! See you soon!

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

First Week of School

To help students understand and practice their arrival/dismissal routine, we encourage parents to start the year with the routines they plan on using for the entire year. If your student will be a bus rider, we encourage them to ride the bus to and from school on the first day. Students need to meet their bus driver and get into the routine of those normal procedures starting on day one. Help your child be successful and have a smooth transition to school by starting their day off with our friendly bus drivers. On the first day, parents are welcome to meet their student at school after they arrive on the bus and snap a picture outside!!

Please read the information below and look at the map for our NEW arrival and dismissal process.

KID Account - Visitor Passes/Car Riders/Dismissal

It is the goal of the Meramec Valley R-III School District to provide a safe environment for students. The district recognizes that rules regarding dismissal of students are a necessary part of the district’s safety program. All visitors must enter the school through the office doors. Students who are going to be picked up before the end of the school day will be released through the office only. As a reminder, you will be asked to show your ID, so please make sure to bring it with you.

We will be using Kid Account to dismiss this year. We will provide you with more information and a card that is specific to your student. This card will be scanned at pick up to ensure each child is released to the correct guardian. We will also use Kid Account as students get on the bus each day to ensure all students are released to the correct bus.

Arrival Procedures

When you arrive at school:

  • Please pull into the drop-off car lane. We will begin bringing students into the building at 8:15 am.
  • Staff will meet you at your car door to escort children into the building.
  • If outside of normal drop-off time, you must announce your arrival via intercom/monitor and wait for a staff member to let you in. Please DO NOT allow others to enter as you leave.
  • Parents who bring students after the starting time for each session must sign the child in at the main office.
  • Always tell the teacher or staff assistant you are leaving thereby placing the child in his/her car.
  • The use of cell phones is strongly discouraged during this time as they interfere with child/parent time.
  • When exiting the parking lot, please be mindful of traffic and follow the arrows.

Dismissal Procedures

  • Please pull into the pick-up car lane between 3:30pm - 3:40 pm.
    • If your child attends our tuition program, they may attend until 4:00 pm.
  • Staff will come to your car to scan your KID Account card.
  • Your child's teacher or classroom assistant will escort your child out of the building to you.
  • If outside of normal pick-up time, you will need to park and announce your arrival via intercom/monitor and wait for a staff member to bring your student to you.
  • You will be asked to show your ID, so please make sure to bring it with you.
  • When exiting the parking lot, please be mindful of traffic and follow the arrows.

Bus Route Information

MVR-III uses the BusRight Parent App to communicate bus routes and times with parents. BusRight is a FREE parent app to allow parents to, in real-time, follow their child’s bus route to and from school, receive notifications when the bus begins and ends its route, view the expected arrival time at your child’s designated bus stop, and receive communication from the Transportation Department.

To access BusRight, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Download the App: Download the BusRight app from your mobile device's app store.

  2. Create an Account: Use your Infinite Campus email address to create a login.

  3. Track Your Student: Begin tracking your child's bus routes immediately.

If you have issues creating your account, you will need to verify with your school building office that you are listed as the primary guardian in Infinite Campus. Find out more on BusRight on the District website under Transportation.

Nurse Jessica Graham Nurse Jessica Graham

Our school nurse, Ms. Jessica, is AMAZING! We will ask that everyone take time to stop by and meet her during Open House.

A copy of the most updated immunization record should be turned into the office as many shots are required by law. Special health conditions regarding your student should be reported through our Medical Information Form filled out during registration but a follow up with Nurse Jessica is always great confirmation with communication!

District & Building Communications

In the case of inclement weather or other emergency situations, an announcement of changes will be made through our Communication Notification System. MVR-III utilizes this tool to enhance ongoing communication with parents and staff through voice call, text, mobile app notifications, social media, and the district website live feed. In cases of school cancelation, news channels 2, 4, and 5 will also have the information.

This system allows school administrators to keep parents updated quickly and efficiently with personalized messages that help them stay actively involved in their child’s education. Patrons can use the free mobile app to get rapid notifications and access a variety of school-related information.

Parents are encouraged to download the FREE MVR-III School District mobile app to streamline school communication on the go. Find the Meramec Valley R-III School District app in the Apple App or Google Play Store. Be sure to select notifications from your preferred buildings and enable Push Notifications on your phone settings. Teachers will use the Rooms link inside the MVR-III app to communicate directly with parents.

Rooms makes it easier to stay in touch with teachers and class information from that same app. You can easily switch from district and school information in the app to Rooms, where you can see your student's classes and engage directly with teachers. Rooms can be accessed via the web (at edurooms.com) and from our district app, which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones. To access Rooms, you will need to create a login and password.

Breakfast & Lunch Information Breakfast & Lunch Information

School district meal prices will remain the same for the 2025 school year. Families are highly encouraged to complete the Free/Reduced Meal Application for possible qualification. Paper applications will be available at Open House events.

The Free/Reduced Meal Program not only helps families, it gives the district a more accurate picture of student needs as the percentage of students qualifying for free/reduced price meals is a national measure of poverty. The annual rate is used to determine how much federal funding will flow to school districts and how much extra support- primarily staffing like Reading Specialist and additional teaching staff for schools with the highest free/reduced percentages. Additionally, these rates help districts qualify for free meal waivers for MVR-III which benefit all students.

Contact Michelle Dawson at 636-271-1428 or email at mailto:mdawson@mvr3.k12.mo.us. Find Food Service Department information here.

Lunch is included in the tuition price for tuition paying students, so this information does not apply to your family.

As the 2025 school year kicks off, MVR-III is excited to offer a nutritious and energizing start to every student's day—FREE breakfast for all! This incredible opportunity is made possible by Provision 2 under the National School Breakfast Program, and it’s designed with one simple goal in mind: ensuring that our students have the energy they need for a successful day of learning.

However, to keep programs like these available, it’s crucial for families to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application. By doing so, you help the District qualify for vital funding that supports all students. Your participation ensures that every child continues to receive the benefits of nutritious meals, which are key to their academic and personal growth.

At Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center, we believe that connection is at the heart of everything we do. After listening closely to feedback from our amazing staff, one message was loud and clear—our school family is stronger when we come together with a shared sense of purpose. Whether it’s through collaboration, communication, or building relationships across classrooms and teams, we all long for a deeper sense of unity, belonging, and support.

As the new school year begins, we’re excited to introduce our theme for 2025–2026: “Rooted In Heart, Driven By Purpose.” This theme is more than just words—it’s a commitment to lead with compassion, to be intentional in our actions, and to create a warm, welcoming environment for every child, family, and staff member who walks through our doors.

Throughout the year, this theme will guide the way we teach, learn, and grow together. We’ll focus on building a strong, positive school culture, strengthening communication between teams and families, and working together to support the success of each child. Most importantly, we’ll remember that we are one team, working with heart and purpose, to give every student the best possible start.

We look forward to a year filled with meaningful connections, shared joy, and purposeful learning. Thank you for being an important part of our school family—we’re so glad you’re here!
