Dear Preschool Families,

This is our last regular newsletter for this school year. We will be doing a special "graduation" newsletter in May. Our year will be coming to an end in six short school weeks. Thank you for trusting us with your children and supporting us with your time and financial resources.

We celebrated Easter with your children this week. The Easter story, while beautiful, can be confusing to young children. At Unity Preschool, we try to keep things simple and focus on the positive and joyful parts of the Easter story. Remind your children that we celebrate Easter to remember what God does for us, and how much he loves each one of us. Easter is bigger than we can understand, so we do not have to know all the answers to talk with our children about Easter. May you find much joy and love in celebrating Easter and please know that you are welcome to worship at Unity Presbyterian Church on Easter Sunday or any Sunday.

P.S. Remember that we have no school April 6-10 because of the FMSD spring break.

We had some fun visits in March from some of our important Community Helpers. We recently had a visit from Ms. Rene, a Dental Hygienist at Pleasant Mill Pediatric Dentistry and a visit from firefighters with the Fort Mill Fire Department.

Our last Spirit Day is Thursday, April 23 - EARTH DAY CELEBRATION.

Katy Rue of Katy Rue Photography (we used her last year) will be doing our pictures on Tuesday, April 21. We plan to do all classes on Tuesday with a weather back-up day on Thursday, April 23. We will take individual pictures, sibling pictures (Unity students), and class pictures. The pictures are taken outside in our beautiful courtyard.

With the nicer weather we thought it would be fun to host another Family Picnic for all of our classes. You (mom, dad, siblings, grandparents, friends) are invited to bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to preschool and we will enjoy lunch together in our Park at 11:15. If you are a working parent and cannot attend, simply let us know. You can send a lunch with your child and we will arrange a picnic partner for your child. We will host the picnics in the Historic Sanctuary if the weather is not cooperating.

We are thrilled to host Graduation for our Four's classes in our Sanctuary for family and friends of our graduates. Graduation will be Wednesday, May 20 at 11:00. We will be sending more information to the Fours in the coming weeks.

We are running very low on wipes. We use these daily to clean our hands after painting and other projects. We would appreciate donations to carry us through year end. Thank you so much for your generous donations of supplies throughout the year. It allows us to keep our tuition costs lower.

Just a reminder that if you are looking for summer reading books, you can place an order on our class scholastic website. We are not sending home flyers, but it is open for shopping. Your orders help us purchase more books for our Preschool Library as well as Birthday, Christmas, and End-of-Year books for your children.

As we continue through the Season of Lent, we are reminded that the destination of our Lenten Journey is the cross and empty tomb. As you and your family prepare for Holy Week, we want to share Unity's Holy Week events. You are welcome to join us for any of the following:

*Names on Clothes: Please include the name of your child on jackets. It helps our subs because they do not know everyone.

*Bug Spray/Sunscreen: As it warms up, please apply sunscreen and/or bug spray in the morning before you drop off your child.

*Folder Reminder: Please remember to empty your child's folder at least every week!
