Piney Point of View: February is Here!

Grizzlies, we’ve had an amazing start to the second semester!

Our Robotics and Science Olympiad teams are gearing up for their State Competitions, and our FBLA and DECA students are preparing to represent Piney Grove at their upcoming state events as well. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and wish all of these outstanding students the very best of luck.

Our Fine Arts Department is also in full swing as Chorus and Band prepare for their Large Group Performance Evaluations, and our spring musical lit up the stage last weekend with an unforgettable performance.

In athletics, our Basketball Teams closed out the season with a strong showing in the county tournament, and we were thrilled to see our 8th Grade Boys recognized with the Sportsmanship Award for the entire county.

Spring is on its way — and much needed after two weekends of ice, snow, and online learning. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support as we navigated the winter weather together.

I am looking forward to all the fun, energy, and excitement the spring season will bring to Piney Grove. Our students are amazing, and we are so grateful they are Grizzlies.

With #pineypride,

Lori

CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION

For February, our focus in digital citizenship is on Privacy and Cyber Awareness. During these years of rapid change and growing curiosity, students dive deeper into concepts like digital footprints, media literacy, AI-generated content, and tech laws. They learn how to think critically, set healthy boundaries on social media, and recognize their role as upstanders. The guide below will help you continue those conversations at home— encouraging thoughtful reflection and safe decision-making.

Check out the parent guide to CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION with your students.
