Dear Dryden Families,

What an Exciting Week at Dryden!

This week kicked off with a big dose of fun and learning thanks to our PTA-sponsored Pro Kids Assembly on Monday, featuring the incredible Tim Hannig! Our students from kindergarten through fifth grade were completely engaged as Mr. Hannig entertained them with skits, magic, and ventriloquism, while also weaving in important messages about planting seeds of character, following the Dolphin Do’s, honesty, and courage.

Many student volunteers joined in on the fun, along with a very brave staff volunteer, Mrs. Melissa Johnson, who was quite relieved when Mr. Hannig successfully returned her grandmother’s ring after making it “disappear” during a magic trick! The energy in the room was contagious, and it was wonderful to see our students laughing, participating, and reflecting on how these character traits show up in their own lives. Be sure to ask your child about the assembly and what they remember most. We promise you’ll hear some great stories!

On Friday, our first grade students proudly celebrated the Hundredth Day of School! Students participated in many fun and engaging activities that allowed them to explore and demonstrate their understanding of what it means to reach 100. This celebration is a beloved rite of passage at Dryden School, and our first graders truly rose to the occasion, many of them going all out by dressing as if they were 100 years old! The creativity and excitement were wonderful to see. Be sure to take a look at the fun photos from both the Pro Kids Assembly and the Hundredth Day celebrations below.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support. It is a joy to watch our students learn, grow, and celebrate together, and we are so grateful to share these moments with our Dryden families.

Warmly,

Jessica Martinsen

A Note from the Health Office

Winter air is very dry, causing chapped lips and dry hands. This can be very distracting for students. The health office has vaseline to help, but to limit your students' time outside of class, please remember to put some chapstick in your students' backpacks.

Thank you,

Miranda Rixon
