We had a pretty smooth opening this week. There were plenty of smiles on our students' faces as they reconnected with old friends and hopefully met some new friends too. Here are a few pictures from opening day.

Registration is officially open for our upcoming sports programs! Whether your student is looking to compete on an interscholastic team or try out new activities through our intramural program, we have great options available this season. Inside the registration links you will find more information including the schedules.

Interscholastic Sports

• Cross Country

• Field Hockey

• Fee: $100 per interscholastic sport

Intramural Tennis

• Fee: $75 (One-time annual fee)

• Bonus: Paying the $75 intramural fee covers your student for all intramural activities for the entire remainder of the school year—no additional fees required for future intramural sports!

Gear up, get registered, and let’s have a great season!

Beginning Tuesday September 8th, IMS will be providing after school transportation to the Ipswich YMCA and the Teen Center located at the Ascension Church. The bus will be leaving school at approximately 2:25 PM each day, with the exception of Thursdays when the van will leave at 1:20. The bus holds 14 passengers and will be driven by a school staff member or administrator. While attending, students are expected to adhere to Teen Center and YMCA rules and families are responsible for coordinating pick up or transportation home. If students board the bus, they are expected to enter the Y or the Teen Center upon arrival. The bus will make up to two trips to each location each day, transporting a maximum of 28 students. There will be a sign up sheet in the office and students can sign themselves up on a first come, first serve basis. This is a daily after school offering for your child, they are not required to attend every school day. Once this permission slip is completed, your child can ride the bus for the remainder of the school year. The Y will allow all middle school students to attend and will have them sign in upon arrival. If students do not have a membership, the Y will reach out to discuss membership possibilities.

YMCA/Teen Drop-In Bus Permission Slip 2026-27

We are thrilled to kick off another amazing year at the Teen Center! We are officially opening our doors to all Middle School students starting Tuesday, September 8th.

Here is everything you need to know to get your child ready for after-school fun:

Hours of Operation

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

• Thursday: Closed

Important Registration & Fee Details

• Registration Required: Families must complete and submit the registration form before their child’s first visit. Please see the attached flyer and registration form to get started.

• Daily Fee: Attendance is $4.00 per day.

We are so excited to partner with Conley's Drug Store and offer flu clinics to students, staff, and families. Remember you can sign up for any clinic which fits your families' schedule.

The first flu clinic date will be Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 2-4pm at the Ipswich Middle/High School. Here is the link to register for that date:

In addition to the flu vaccine, other vaccines are offered including the Covid vaccine. Online registration is encouraged, but forms can be printed at conleysdrugstore.com.

Every student will have their photo taken as it will be used for the yearbook. If you are interested in purchasing photos, use the QR code or log on to the website to order your pictures by September 18th.

If the summer has gotten away from you and your student has not yet finished, or started, their summer reading, they can still get it done. We ask each student to read at least one of the six books that were chosen this year and we will have book group discussions and activities about the book on October 2nd. The books are available at the Public Library, Tidal Pages Book Shop, Amazon, and a small number of them are available at school to check out for a two week time period from the main office.
