Hello 1st Grade Families!
It’s hard to believe this is our last 1st Grade Newsletter of the 2023-2024 school year. Our last day of 1st Grade is next Friday, June 7th. Please continue to remind your student to follow the Alice Smith 3Rs - Respectful, Responsible, Ready to Learn.
On Thursday, we had a fun and successful field trip to Burnes Park for our end of the year celebration picnic. Students enjoyed the splash pad, playground and participating in other sports activities and games. It was also "Chalk Day," so students decorated the sidewalks around the park.
Over the past two weeks, our learning has revolved around different themes including Shark Week and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Next week, we will learn about Bubbles and participate in a variety of activities, projects and experiments.
On Friday, May 24th we started our 10-Day Countdown to Summer using the letters in ALICE SMITH to guide our theme or activity for each day. Please check the calendar below for next week's special days.
Next Tuesday, June 4th is Field Day. Student will rotate through 12 fun-filled stations from 11:25 AM - 2:05 PM. Mrs. Ellingson is requesting students bring the following items...
-water bottle
-gym shoes
-sunscreen
-towel
-extra set of dry clothes
-hat
-snack
