THE WOODLANDS HIGH SCHOOL ART TRUST
The Woodlands High School Art Trust (TWHSAT) is celebrating the 16th year of building our student-selected, student-purchased art collection that is permanently displayed on the walls of our school. Thank you to all the Texas Artists who submitted artwork for consideration into our collection this year. Our student committee met and narrowed the submissions down to 12 pieces that will be voted on by the entire student body in mid-November.
CONGRATULATIONS to:
Sue Bishop (Georgetown), Patti Gary (Montgomery),
Tina Hsu (Richmond), Iwona Jankowski (Magnolia),
Dee Jon (Houston), Caroline Z. Marcos (Houston),
Brenda Mcdougall (The Woodlands),
Asiya Nouretdinova (Pearland), Peggy Steup (Kingwood),
Stutz (Clute), Kimberly Vaughan (Aransas Pass),
Hannah Wu (Spring)
Posters of their artworks will be on view at school in November and the original pieces will be displayed in the cafeteria just prior to voting. The students will purchase as many as possible of the pieces that receive the most votes on November 12.
We are having a public reception for the artists at the school on November 6 from 1:30-3 pm in the front foyer of the main campus. All the artworks will be on display, and everyone is invited to come by to see the works and visit with the artists.
The artworks are purchased through funds set aside by Student Council from the Homecoming Dance; however, the framing, lighting and conservation of these pieces need funding. Consider helping with that funding and show your support for The Woodlands High School Art Trust by joining our "One Hundred Friends of Art." Our goal is to have 100 arts supporters make an annual donation to support our cause. Donations are tax deductible and start as low as $10!! Visit our website to make a contribution: www.twhsat.org
The Woodlands High School Art Trust (TWHSAT) a 501(c)3 organization, was established in 2011 to help maintain, conserve and display the student-selected, student-purchased collection of established artists at The Woodlands High School. The vision for the TWHS Art Trust is to see the art collection grow each year and to have it extend through the hallways of the high school. We also offer FREE tours of our collection to schools and other groups by appointment.
Other than the public sculptures around The Woodlands, this is the ONLY permanent collection of art available to the public. It is seen by THOUSANDS of people every day. Please consider supporting this unique collection that sets us apart from other public high schools and strengthens our goal of being one of the best high schools in the state and country.
For more information on The Woodlands High School Art Trust please visit our website: www.twhsat.org or contact Susan Cosculluela at twhsat@gmail.com

CLINIC NOTES
Nutrition Reminders
As we head into the second nine weeks, this time of year can be especially busy (and sometimes stressful!) for our students. We’ve noticed that quite a few are skipping breakfast or forgetting to stay hydrated, which often leads to visits to the clinic with headaches, stomachaches, dizziness, or nausea.
Please remind your student to start the day with a protein-packed breakfast — things like eggs, meat, or peanut butter are great options — and to keep a water bottle handy throughout the day. We have convenient water bottle filling stations around campus.
A quick note about drinks: coffee and energy drinks might seem like a good pick-me-up, but they can actually make kids feel worse once the caffeine wears off. For our athletes, staying hydrated before and after practice is especially important — drinks with electrolytes can be helpful!
Attention Parents of Seniors
As graduation approaches, please remember that colleges and universities require a second dose of the MCV4 (meningitis) vaccine — given on or after your child’s 16th birthday. There’s also an optional Meningitis B vaccine available that offers protection against additional strains; talk with your child’s pediatrician for more information.
If you need a copy of your student’s vaccination record for college, just email Mrs. Ansley at aransley@conroeisd.net with your child’s name and ID number, and she’ll be happy to send it to you.
Chronic Conditions & Medications at School
If your student has a chronic condition (such as asthma, severe allergies, or diabetes) that requires medication during the school day, please remember that a doctor-signed action plan must be submitted each school year before your child can carry their medication. Students may only carry inhalers, EpiPens, or diabetic supplies. Forms can be found here: Clinic Information and Forms
Parents and guardians can also check in over-the-counter medications (like ibuprofen, Tylenol, allergy medicine, or cough drops) to be kept in the clinic. Medications must be:
● In their original, unexpired containers
● No more than a 30-day supply (no large bottles, please)
Medications containing aspirin, those that treat diarrhea, or those requiring a non-standard dose must include a doctor’s order.
Thank you so much for helping us keep our students healthy, hydrated, and ready to learn!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Vote for October’s CTE Teacher of the Month!
Highlanders, it’s time to celebrate the teachers who help students turn their interests into real-world skills! Our CTE (Career and Technical Education) teachers lead the classes where students get hands-on experience in fields like health science, business, culinary arts, agriculture, engineering, and more. These programs build skills students can use in college, career, and beyond, and many even lead to industry certifications.
Now we want to hear from you! Parents and students, please take a moment to vote for the October CTE Teacher of the Month. Think about the CTE teacher who goes the extra mile, makes learning meaningful, and helps students see what’s possible for their future.
Cast your vote here: October CTE Teacher of the Month Ballot
Voting closes: October 23, 2026

TWHS Library
This year the library is going almost completely cashless. All students will have a $2.00 Library Service Fee on their School Cash Online accounts. We would like to inform you that the Welcome Center, led by Iytzia Cárdenas, has now been relocated to the Jett Center. However, she continues to visit our campus some days a week, mainly when she has scheduled appointments with families.
SCHOOL CASH ONLINE: Please be sure to check your child's School Cash Online account frequently. The website is www.conroeisd.schoolcashonline.com. Fees are added throughout the year for various activities. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the fees charged to your child, please contact the classroom teacher or club sponsor. Failure to pay fees listed as "required" or "overdue" may result in a student not being permitted to participate in some extracurricular activities. If you need assistance logging in to School Cash Online or adding and viewing your child's account, please visit schoolcashonline.com/Home/Support and view the resources available to help.
