Welcome Back MHS Families!
The Medford High School Counseling Department is excited to welcome students and families to the 2026–2027 school year! Throughout the year, our counselors will work alongside students and families as they navigate academic planning, college and career exploration, post-secondary planning, and the many milestones of high school. We have several important events and opportunities coming up this fall. Please take a few minutes to review the information below and mark your calendars.
Student Schedules
Students have the opportunity to add or drop a course until September 18th, 2026. They should see their school counselor if they have any concerns.
Senior Family Night
Wednesday, September 23, 2026 | 7:00–8:00 PM | Medford High School Auditorium
Parents and caregivers of seniors are invited to join us for an evening focused on helping students prepare for life after high school. Families will hear from college admission representatives, receive important information about college planning, dates, deadlines, and resources, and learn about post-graduation pathways for CTE students, including labor unions, apprenticeships, industry certifications, and career opportunities.
Whether your senior is planning for college, a career, or another pathway, this evening will provide valuable information and resources to help your family navigate senior year and plan confidently for what's next.

PSAT/NMSQT — Wednesday, October 21, 2026
The PSAT/NMSQT is aligned to the SAT and provides students with a low-stakes opportunity to practice and identify areas they may want to strengthen before taking the SAT. The assessment takes approximately three hours with standard time.
Grade 10 — Opt In: Sophomores are eligible to take the PSAT/NMSQT at no cost. Families who would like their 10th-grade student to participate must complete the sign-up form by September 25, 2026.
Grade 11 — Opt Out: All juniors are scheduled to take the PSAT/NMSQT at no cost. Junior-year scores are also used to determine semifinalists for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Families who do not want their junior to participate may return the opt-out form to their student's Assistant Principal's office by Friday, September 25, 2026.

C3 Day for Seniors — Career • College • Community Service
Wednesday, October 21, 2026
What is C3 Day? It's a day seniors will not have class; instead, they will participate in an activity related to one of the 3 C's: Career, College, or Community Service.
C3 Day gives seniors an opportunity to step outside of their regular school-day schedule and engage in a meaningful experience that helps them explore their interests, consider their next steps, and begin making connections between high school and life after graduation. More information about C3 Day activities, registration, and logistics will be shared with seniors and families.
