Superintendent's Update
May 23, 2025
Dear CCPS Families,
As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I want to reflect on the many accomplishments and exciting events happening across our district.
First, congratulations to our student-athletes and coaches on a fantastic spring season! With spring athletics over, we celebrate the dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship that our students have shown throughout the year.
We are also incredibly proud to recognize the 41 students who graduated from the Early College Academy at Cecil College on Sunday, May 18. These students have demonstrated exceptional commitment and perseverance, earning their associate degrees while still in high school—an outstanding achievement!
Next week marks a major milestone for our seniors as we celebrate high school graduation. These ceremonies are a time of pride and reflection, and we look forward to honoring the Class of 2025 as they prepare to take their next steps beyond high school.
Meanwhile, our elementary schools are buzzing with energy as Fun & Fitness Days are underway! These events are a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy outdoor activities, build community, and celebrate a successful school year. Please check your child’s school newsletter for specific dates and details.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s finish the year strong!
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
