PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, February 20th
Thank you to everyone who participated in parent teacher conferences. We value your ongoing partnership in your child(ren)'s education.
Thank you to our amazing PTA for organizing a wonderful staff lunch for us! From the delicious sandwiches to the home baked sweet treats, we cannot thank you all enough for keeping us going on Monday! Our hearts (and bellies) were full!
Adam Harris, our district Head of Communications and Storytelling visited us on Wednesday to spend some time with our amazing traffic team! Not every school in the district has a dedicated group of volunteers to help with traffic at the beginning and end of each day and we are so appreciative of our traffic team! Click HERE to watch a fun video about how our traffic volunteers ensure a smooth start and end to the school day! If you are inspired by this and are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Chris Fries at pattontrafficteam@gmail.com.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

PACK THE PIGGIES (NEW POST!)
Are you ready to Pack the Piggy Patton? The Arlington Heights Council of PTA’s (AHC-PTA) funds $15k annually in scholarships for former D25 students, who are graduating seniors in D214. This year, the AHC-PTA will be running it’s 5th “Pack the Piggies” fundraiser across the district to raise money for these scholarships.
The contest at Patton begins Monday, February 23rd and goes through Friday, February 27th, which gives us 5 days to pack our piggy to reach our goal!
Each district school’s goal is to raise $1 per student. Our school's goal is $396!
If we reach our school goal, our students will get to enjoy an amazing prize! To help reach our goal, students can bring in coins, cash, or checks (made out to the AHC-PTA) and pack our piggy!
Let’s have some fun for a great cause starting Monday, February 23rd!
LOST AND FOUND (NEW POST!)
Given the fact that we have navigated winter AND spring this past week, our Lost and Found is positively groaning with coats, jackets, sweaterss, gloves, and hats (LOTS of hats!) If you see anything familiar, please come and take a look or remind your child/ren to come and get their items during the school day. All unclaimed items will be donated on Friday, March 6th.
BOOK FAIR - THANK YOU (NEW POST!)
We want to send a huge thank you to so many people for an amazingly successful book fair!
To Mrs. Chin and Mrs. Vignocchi, thank you for your support of the book fair and all of the constant communication to help us execute this for our Patton community.
To Mrs. Hamilton and Mrs. Dunning, thank you for all of the emails, making copies, greeting Anderson’s drivers to drop off materials, constantly buzzing us in, and more.
To the teachers and staff, thank you for bringing your classes to the fair to create wishlists and for allowing them to come at the end of the week to purchase books. The kids were so excited to peruse, shop, and purchase books. We loved their excitement and smiles!
To all of the parent volunteers who spent time helping those days of the book fair, thank you for helping the kids write wishlists, keep the fair organized, and support all of our efforts.
To our PTA president, Megan Worthington, for your support of this event and the time you spent with us helping the fair run smoothly.
To our Patton community and parents, thank you for shopping to support our school and foster a love of reading in our students.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Maddie Schultz & Liz Ballinger
5 ESSENTIALS SURVEY (UPDATED POST!)
The statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey is now open through March 13. This survey is an opportunity for parents/guardians, teachers/staff, and 4th through 12th grade students to share thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness, specifically about your/their school.
5Essentials
🚨NEED 20% Parent Participation by March 13!
We are asking our parents to please participate in the 5Essentials Survey:
🚨 Please note: A parent supplement report will only be generated if at least 20 percent of a school’s parents complete the survey. Currently our response rate is at 8%.
Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
Student Participation (Grades 4-8 ONLY):
At Patton, 4th Grade students will take this survey on February 24th and 5th Grade students will take this survey on February 26th. Should you wish your child not participate, please fill out the following opt-out form:
Should you wish to review the student questions visit the Illinois 5Essentials Support Center and search "Student Questions" or click here and download the Student Survey Questions file.
For more information about the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, their Support Center's search function is extremely helpful. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact UChicago Impact Client Services at 1-866-440-1874 or impact-surveys@uchicago.edu.
