Bronco Kudos!
ππ Future Community Helpers in Pre-K! ππ
Our Pre-K Broncos spent last week learning all about community workers and the important roles they play in keeping our community safe! πβ¨ We were excited to welcome firefighters and police officers into our classrooms to share more about their jobs, demonstrate how they help others, and teach our little Broncos about safety.
A HUGE THANK YOU to our amazing first responders for taking the time to visit Brill and inspire our youngest Leaders and Learners! Your service, dedication, and care for our community make a difference every day. β€οΈ
Way to go, Pre-K Broncos, for being curious, asking great questions, and learning how to be safe! Youβre already making every lap count! π
βπ Math in Action at Brill! ππ
Our Broncos in Ms. Vara and Ms. Taghizadehβs classes are adding up the success during math stations!π Students are building their math skills, strengthening their problem-solving strategies, and tackling two- and three-digit addition like champs! π§ βοΈ
We love seeing our Leaders and Learners actively engaged, working hard, and growing their confidence one problem at a time. Every station is another opportunity to learn, practice, & make progress! Way to go, Broncos! Keep adding to your success and making every lap count! πβ
ππ Learning in Action at Brill! ππ
Our Broncos are building skills, making connections, and growing as Leaders and Learners! π
βοΈ In Ms. Rodriguezβs first-grade class, students worked in small groups to explore the -ing sound and hunt for words around the room. Learning comes to life when our Broncos get to practice, explore, and engage!
π In Ms. Rohlmeierβs second-grade class, students used vertical learning to deepen their understanding of character traits. By working together and sharing their thinking, our Broncos strengthened their comprehension and learned from one another.
We are so proud of our Broncos for staying engaged, collaborating with classmates, and building new skills every day! Every lesson is another opportunity to grow and make every lap count! ππ
π©·π Brill Broncos Think PINK! π©·π
Our campus was seeing PINK as our Broncos and staff came together for Pink Out Day! π From head to toe, our Brill community showed up in pink to spread awareness, show support, and remind one another of the power of coming together for a meaningful cause.
We love seeing our Broncos build community, show kindness, and demonstrate that we are stronger when we stand together! π Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make our campus shine pink!
Together, weβre making a difference and making every lap count! ππ©·

Nov. 20th: PBIS Campus Incentive- Extra Recess
We are working hard this school year to teach our expectations through the Bronco 5: Kindness, Communication, Integrity, Self-Control, and Respect and acknowledge positive behaviors when we see it by giving out Bronco Bucks. One of the ways that we accomplish that is by hosting grade level PBIS events approximately every 8 weeks. These are incentives that every student has the opportunity to participate in if they meet the criteria. It is the responsibility of the student to meet the criteria in order to be able to participate. If a student has an office referral during that period for physical contact, then they forfeit the opportunity to participate in that event and instead are involved in a grade level restorative lesson so that they better understand how to maintain the criteria for the next incentive. Keep up the good work Broncos!

Lunch Visitors will begin the week of September 7th
Please note we will begin hosting lunch visitors the week of September 7th. In order to accommodate all of our guests, we have set specific days for each grade level for guests to visit their Bronco during their student's lunch time. Lunch guests will be able to eat with their Bronco in our lunch visitor section by the Lost and Found lockers for this special occasion. All guests coming to campus must have a photo ID to enter the building and must keep their visitor badges on and visible throughout their visit.
Please note that beginning this year, lunch guests are only able to eat with their Bronco student that is connected to them in Skyward during lunches. For the safety and well being of our students, additional students may not be pulled to eat with guests. We appreciate your understanding and following of this school practice.
Lunch Guest Days and Times:
Monday: Fifth Grade from 11:20am-11:50am
Tuesday: Pre- K and Kinder from 10:30am-11am
Wednesday: First Grade at 10:55am to 11:25am & Fourth Grade at 11:55am to 12:25pm
Thursday: Second Grade at 12:30pm-1:00pm & Third Grade at 11:40am to 12:10pm
Attendance Procedures
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her educationβto benefit from teacher-led and school activities, to build each dayβs learning on the previous dayβs, and to grow as an individual. Absences from class may result in serious disruption of a studentβs mastery of the instructional materials; therefore, the student and parent should make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences.
Did you know you can now report an absence in Skyward? Click HERE for more information.
Any student who is absent for the whole day is required to produce one of the following within 5 days of their absence(s):
- Parent Note
- Message through Parent Skyward account
- Original medical note (copies or altered notes will not be accepted)
- Faxed notes must be sent from physicianβs office
- Court note
- Official note for observance of approved religious holy days
Bronco Five
As we begin this year with a continued focus on safe and disciplined schools, I want to remind all our families about Klein ISDβs student behavior expectations. It takes staff, students, and families working together to promote the good behavior we expect to see in our school.
Klein ISD has a Student Code of Conduct to promote a safe and disciplined learning environment for every student that will be strictly enforced on our campus. Therefore, please review with your family these standards of conduct along with the disciplinary consequences for infractions.
We take great pride in creating safe learning environments for our students and staff members. The overwhelming majority of our students are model citizens. We expect every student to take responsibility for contributing to a positive school environment, and we will not tolerate disruptive or disrespectful behavior. Our administrators and staff members are committed to actively monitoring hallways and restroom areas to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Safety is everyoneβs responsibility, and I ask you, as parents, to partner with us by speaking with your children about appropriate behavioral expectations to ensure a positive learning environment in our school.
I also encourage you to take a look at our Keep Klein Safe website (https://kleinisd.net/keepkleinsafe). If you or your child see or hear something that is a safety concern, itβs critical that you report it. Our Klein ISD Police Department is here 24/7 to keep our students, staff, and community safe and take these reports seriously. Additionally, our school administration is here to serve and support students and they are available anytime during the school day to answer questions and support all efforts for student safety and success.
Thank you for your partnership and for working with us to help every student achieve success and find their purpose.
Note from the Nurse:
Student Illness:
As cold, strep and flu season progresses, we are in that time of year when many students are coming down with upper respiratory symptoms. These include nasal congestion, cough, sore throat, headache, and possibly fever.
Please be aware that Klein ISD requires that students be excluded from school for a fever of 100.0 or higher and they may not return to school until they are fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
Temporarily masking a fever with medication does not change the fact the student is in the contagious period of an illness and may be spreading the illness, like the flu, to others by coughing, sneezing, and touching surfaces.
While we value student attendance, it is important everyone plays their part in keeping the spread of illness to a minimum by following this rule. Please also make sure your contact information and emergency contacts are up to date with the Registrar so that you can be reached in the event your child is ill and must be picked up from school.
NEW Medication Guidelines:
If your child will need a medication while at school, there has been a change to Klein ISD procedures. Medications will need a written order by a licensed healthcare provider. Clinic staff will not be able to use the prescription label as proof of the written medical order, as in the past. The licensed healthcare provider can use the Klein ISD Medication Authorization form, an action plan, or a letter from their office to provide their signed consent. If you have any questions, please contact our school clinic.
Also please contact the clinic for any student needing an action plan.
Ex. Action plans may include the following:
- Asthma
- Allergy to foods
- Diabetes
- Seizures
Personal Electronic Communication Device Reminders:
As we prepare for the start of the school year, we want to make sure our families are informed regarding a new state law, House Bill 1481, that was passed by the Texas Legislature last year.
Continuing in the 2026-2027 school year, this state law prohibits students from using personal communication devices during the instructional day while on school grounds. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, earbuds, and any other device capable of digital or telecommunication.
What This Means for Our Students
Students may bring personal communication devices to school, but they must be turned off, out of sight, and stored away in their backpack, pocket, laptop sleeve, or other personal belongings while on school grounds from the first bell to the end of the instructional day, including during class, passing periods, lunch, and recess.
The law requires disciplinary consequences for the use of personal communication devices during the instructional day while on school grounds. Exceptions are provided for students covered under a Section 504 plan or an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that includes personal communication devices as an accommodation. Access will be permitted as outlined in their individual plans.
Communication and Support
The majority of our schools implemented similar personal communication device expectations for students last school year and found that their students were less distracted, resulting in more focused learning environments and increased positive face-to-face interactions for students and staff.
Prior to the first day of school, we encourage you to discuss this new Texas law with your children and emphasize the importance of focusing on learning throughout the school day. School leadership will also communicate to students the expectations and consequences for failing to keep personal communication devices off and out of sight when they return to school.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to ensure a positive, safe, and focused learning environment for all students.
Annual Volunteer Application Due!
