Letter from the Principal,

What a busy and fun week in the elementary! Between a full moon, Trunk or Treat, Halloween celebrations, and everything in between, I have been so impressed with our students and their ability to still get great work done in the classroom!

A huge thank you to our amazing PTO for putting on such a wonderful Trunk or Treat! We had the perfect fall evening filled with costumes, treats, laughter, and so much fun. Thank you to everyone who hosted a trunk and to all of the families who came out to join us. It was wonderful seeing our school community come together and watching our families spend time together. Thank you, PTO, for making another special Suttons Bay memory possible!

I hope all of our families have a safe, fun, and happy weekend. A couple of reminders as we head into November: there is no school for students on Monday, and don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend—set your clocks back one hour on Sunday!

Enjoy the extra hour, and we’ll see our students back at school on Tuesday!

If you need anything at all, please feel free to call, text, or email: (231) 534-4439 or wadsworthe@suttonsbayschools.com

Fourth Grade Leadership Team: Leading by Example!

This year, we have made a rare and exciting exception by welcoming ALL of our fourth graders to the Leadership Team! Nearly EVERY student expressed an interest and completed an application, demonstrating an incredible eagerness to become a school leader. With so many students excited to make a difference, how could we leave anyone out?

Our fourth-grade leaders have embraced their responsibilities with enthusiasm, kindness, and creativity while having a LOT of fun along the way! They have already been busy making a difference in so many ways:

  • Building school spirit by creating posters to promote school activities and sporting events.

  • Being positive role models by reading and connecting with their kindergarten book buddies.

  • Lending a helping hand during Popcorn Fridays by bagging popcorn and delivering it to classrooms throughout the building.

  • Celebrating our school community's diversity by helping decorate our building in recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

It has been wonderful watching our students discover the pride, joy, and sense of accomplishment that come from being helpful, responsible, and contributing members of our school community. They are learning that leadership is about taking initiative, helping others, and making a positive difference.

Way to go, fourth-grade leaders! Your enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to make a difference are exactly what leadership is all about!
