RIASEC Student Showcase: Visitor Guide
We are excited to invite you to the upcoming RIASEC Student Showcase! This event is a celebration of our students' growth and exploration within their Career Education and Work (CEW) portfolios. It provides a platform for them to share their personal interests, their unique RIASEC themes, and how these connect to their future career aspirations. Please fill out this Google Form to let us know whether or not you plan on attending!
Event Details:
Date: May 21st
Time: Last Names A-D: 8:30-8:50, Last Names E-H: 9:00-9:20, Last Names I-L: 9:30-9:50, Last Names M-P: 1:00-1:20, Last Names Q-T: 1:30-1:50, Last Names U-Z: 2:00-2:20

How Students are Participating:
All students are involved in the showcase and have selected one of two ways to present their journey:
Option A: Poster Presentation – Students will create physical posters based on their Career Education and Work Portfolio to display and discuss with visitors.
Option B: Dialogic Discussion – Students will present their computer-based Career Education and Work Portfolio slideshow by engaging in guided conversations and answering questions about their career interests.
Interactive Experience & Raffle Prizes
We want our guests to be part of the learning! During the showcase, we will use a "Passport" system to visit students:
RIASEC Theme Tables: There will be a dedicated table for each of the six RIASEC themes (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional) featuring different activities manned by Student Council members.
Completing the Passport: Visitors can take a passport and visit at least one student per RIASEC theme. Once you learn about a student's project, they will check off that theme on your passport.
Raffle Prizes: Fully completed passports can be entered into drawings for various raffle prizes.
Poster Project Expectations
For a successful showcase, students are working to ensure their projects meet the following criteria:
Their top 2-3 RIASEC theme(s)
A career of interest that relates to their themes
Why they are interested in that career
Portrait of a Graduate skill/s that best fit the career: Self-directed leader, relationship builder, effective communicator, problem solver, critical thinker
Questions to ask students:
If you plan on attending, please ask each student you visit the following questions:
What are your RIASEC themes?
What career do you think might be a good fit for you?
What do you care about most in a future career?
What do you want to achieve by the time you graduate high school?

Working Together For a Safe Bus Ride
We appreciate your help in reminding students that the bus ride is part of the school day and should be safe and respectful for everyone. Please review these important reminders with your child:
Put cell phones away while walking up or down the bus steps or crossing the street.
Distractions can lead to slips, trips, or not noticing cars in motion.Avoid running to the bus.
Rushing increases the chance of falling or not seeing traffic. It’s safer to walk calmly.Keep ear buds out when entering or exiting the bus.
Students need to be able to hear the driver’s directions and any car horns nearby.Wait for the driver’s signal before crossing the street after exiting.
The driver can see traffic that students may not—waiting for their direction helps everyone stay safe.Stay seated while the bus is moving.
Sudden stops or turns can cause injuries if students are standing or moving around.Use indoor voices—no screaming on the bus.
Loud noise can distract the driver, making it harder to hear sirens, horns, or students who need help.Do not take photos or videos of other students without their permission.
Everyone deserves privacy and respect, and recording without consent can create conflict or embarrassment. Please don’t eat on the bus.
Food can be a choking hazard, and some students have allergies that can be triggered by nearby snacks.
By following these simple expectations, we can make sure that every student has a safe and comfortable ride to and from school. Thank you for your support!
