Digital Calming Rooms with Wakelet

With digital calming rooms, or reflection rooms, in Wakelet, we can better support not only our students but our staff. Curating videos, messages, graphics, and more into one space for students to center and ground themselves can be life-changing for some and even realign the path they are on. With these digital spaces, students are offered something they have control over and a way to manage their emotions.

Strange New Year's Traditions from Around the World

Cool list of 25 of the strangest New Year's traditions from around the world. Review with students and have them research to verify the information (is it true, when did the tradition start, is it still practiced today, etc.). Create a Wakelet or use Google Sheets to gather what you learn. Have students add their favorite traditions. Use Canva to create a one page flyer explaining the tradition. Hang these up around the school to educate others!
