8th Grade Career Field Trip: JA Inspire

The 8th graders will be taking a field trip on October 29, 2025, to the Kentucky Fairgrounds for JA Inspire. JA Inspire is an interactive, hands-on career development experience led by Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana and supported by a coalition of educators, local organizations, and business leaders.

This event gives students the opportunity to explore a variety of career options independently and practice important interview and workplace skills. There is no cost for students to attend, and all students are expected to participate.

Permission slips can be dropped off to the main office or returned electronically to the counselors. Thank you! We are excited to take them on this field trip.

The Red Ribbon Campaign is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week, October 23rd - October 31st each year.

Silver Creek Middle School is also having a Spirit Wear week to raise awareness.

We are awarding approximately 30 students (30 prizes) each week all school year and our prize supply is dwindling. PRIDE Awards:

Weekly we do a Dragon Pride drawing. Teachers have been rewarding students who demonstrate our P.R.I.D.E characteristics with a ticket. Congratulations to our winners so far. Keep up the P.R.I.D.E. actions to win more tickets and prizes.

How to sign up to see your counselor:

Fill out a slip at the front office by the dragon head, OR
Email us and let us know that you would like to be seen, OR
Ask your teacher to call/send an email

We are starting Quarter Two now that we are back from Fall Break. Be sure to check for assignments, study guides, resources, etc. in Schoology. Also, these Infinite Campus apps for students and parents are really helpful for notifications with grades, missing assignments, and more.

Student Report Cards will be released through Infinite Campus on Friday, October 17th.
