Dear Crossett Brook Community Members:

It's hard to believe that April Break is here already. We have already completed 3/4 of the school year and have some amazing things coming up once we resume school the last week of April. We are looking forward to finishing the year strong with students and celebrating all the amazing accomplishments here at CBMS.

Once we return from April break, we will still have 8 weeks of school and are looking forward to our students giving it their all up to the end. We know once the weather warms, it be harder and harder to stay focused on learning. However, there are many really important learning opportunities that will set students up well for their learning in the fall. Please help us keep students focused to the end.

Last Month of School Updates

We know that families like to plan ahead for end of year events. Step Up Day will take place on Friday June 5th. Placement letters will go via email the day before at the latest.

The last day of school has been announced by Dr. Mike as June 19th (1/2 day for students). Therefore, our 8th grade Celebration of Learning will take place on the evening of June 18th at 6 PM.

Sincerely,

Jen and Duane

Drill Information

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As part of our commitment to keeping students safe, our school practices safety drills throughout the year. These include both fire (evacuation) and intruder drills, which are designed to be age-appropriate and trauma-informed.

We are required to let families know in advance when a drill will take place. To maintain the effectiveness of the practice, we provide a general notice several days ahead. Please be aware that our school will hold a safety drill sometime before April 30, 2026.

Before and after each drill, staff talk with students about the purpose of the practice, how to respond safely, and what went well. We encourage you to continue these conversations at home so your child understands the importance of being prepared.

Thank you for partnering with us to make safety a priority. Please reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,
Duane Pierson and Jen Durren
