Harrisonville High School Drama Production

This week, a group of Harrisonville High School drama students traveled to East Lynne 40 to perform their children’s show, Supervillains Anonymous! The one-act comedy follows a group of defeated supervillains attending a support group to give up their evil ways, until an eager newcomer and a surprise visit from their old nemesis shake things up. The show captivated our students and brought plenty of laughs. The HHS cast and crew even designed and created their own set and costumes!

Our favorite part was seeing former students, Katie Hobbs & Olivia Bartlett, who were a part of the production.

We love seeing our alumni in action!

Welcome Swim Shady!

Mrs. Field's class has a new classmate! His name is Swim Shady and he is an axolotl. The students are learning about how to care for him and what to look for as he grows. The whole school was able to vote on the name and Swim Shady was the favorite with Bubbles and Boba close behind.

AMI -- Alternative Methods of Instruction

During parent teacher conferences we handed out our AMI Plan and an overview of what our AMI days will look like (should we use them).

1. We have two snow days built into our calendar that do NOT need to be made up. So, weather days 1 and 2 will not have make up days.

2. The next three weather days (weather days 3, 4, & 5) will need to be made up and will be made up on a MONDAY. The Marvelous Make Up Monday dates will be determined when the day off occurs.

3. After we have had five weather days we will start to use AMI days. Weather days 6, 7 & 8 will be AMI days. Students will complete the work sent home in the packets.

4. Any weather days after that will also be made up on Mondays.

AMI packets will be sent home on January 6, 2026. They will stay home until we have an AMI day. when students will return the packets after each AMI day. Students will have 5 days to turn in the packet after the AMI day to be considered "present".

We are Thankful We are Thankful

A thankful mindset has a way of transforming even ordinary days. When we pause to notice what’s good — a kind word, a small success, or the people who make a difference — our outlook shifts. Gratitude helps us focus on what’s right, not just what’s hard, and that simple change can brighten our mood, strengthen relationships, and bring more joy to our day.

8th grader Serving on Youth Court

8th grader, Justin Claibourn, is participating in the Cass County Youth Court. He said he has been only taking notes and studying for the bar exam and learning about the jobs and the overall judicial process. He is hoping that maybe he will be able to serve as a Clerk or a Bailiff which are typical first year jobs. For him, the best part will be participating in the actual court process. He added "The most challenging thing is probably going to be taking the bar exam." The bar exam there includes 65 questions, and he has to score a 85% and above to pass.

Good luck Justin!

Our 2nd-4th graders recently went to Louisburg Cider Mill. They learned about the process of making cider, enjoyed some cider donuts and also enjoyed playing in the corn pit, the hay bales, the corn maze and petting zoo. It was a full day filled with learning and fun!
