November 2026

November 1, 2026

Dear Malley Drive Families,

It is hard to believe that we are already twelve weeks into the school year! At Malley Drive, we are in the habit of sharing our GOOD THINGS every day, and there are so many to celebrate as we head into the month of November! First and foremost, we are currently at 92% Average Daily Attendance for the school year, exceeding our schoolwide goal of 90%. Thank you for making sure your student is at school and ready to learn each and every day. Another GOOD THING is that we are getting ready for our second schoolwide Scholar Celebration Assembly recognizing students for the October Leadworthy Character Trait of “Self-Direct” on Friday, November 6th. Our November Leadworthy Character Trait is Teamwork. Please take a moment at home to discuss all the different ways to demonstrate teamwork throughout the school day during the month of November.

We have some exciting opportunities for you to learn more about the amazing things that are happening at Malley Drive in the coming month. On November 2nd, we will have a table at the 5 Star Expo, which is being held at Mountain Range High School from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. On Monday, November 9th, and Monday, November 30th, we will be hosting an information session and school tour from 8:00-9:00 AM, and on Wednesday, December 2nd, we will be hosting our Scholar Showcase Open House followed by our Winter Choir Concert. The Scholar Showcase will be from 3:30-5:30 PM, and student work will be on display throughout the hallways and classrooms. The Choir Concert will be from 6:00-6:45 PM in the cafeteria. Please come help us celebrate our scholars’ hard work and all the incredible learning and growth that is taking place in classrooms.

Finally, the School Choice Enrollment window is open from November 1st through December 15th. Please share our website and Instagram information (www.malley.adams12.org and Instagram @malley.drive.elementary) with anyone who is interested in attending Malley Drive next year. We value our partnership with our families and work hard every day to ensure that our scholars feel a strong sense of belonging and LOVE coming to school each day.

Important Reminders:

Morning Arrival and Supervision: As a reminder, breakfast supervision begins at 7:30. Students arriving for breakfast must enter through the Main Front Entrance. It is imperative that no student arrive prior to 7:30, as there is no breakfast supervision before this time.

At 7:35, students are welcome to walk around to the back of the building to line up by their classroom door. Outside supervision begins at 7:35. At 7:45 am, the bell rings for students to enter the classroom. If students are not in their classroom by 7:50 am, they are considered tardy. Please partner with us and ensure your child arrives at school every day on time and ready to learn.

Afternoon Dismissal: School is dismissed at 2:35 pm every day of the week. Please use the hug and go lane or park along the street if you plan to meet your student at the door.

Animals on Campus: We know that pets are part of our families and are well loved! However, animals are not permitted on school grounds. For the safety of all our students, please leave your furry friends at home and do not bring them on campus.

Attendance: Please help us reach our attendance goal of 90% Average Daily Attendance this year by doing all you can to ensure your student does not miss more than 1 day of school each month. Our goal is to have at least 90% of our students in school every day. According to state law and District attendance policy, when your student misses more than 10 days in a school year, they are considered chronically absent. Research shows that students who have excellent school attendance have higher academic and social outcomes. Please do all you can to ensure your student is present and ready to learn every day.

Thank you for your partnership and for all you do at home to ensure your child has a positive school experience!

With gratitude and appreciation,

Jill Ellison, Principal

Important Changes to Student Fees Important Changes to Student Fees

Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Adams 12 Five Star Schools will transition from PayForIt to PaySchools Central for online school-related payments. Families will use PaySchools Central to make applicable school payments, including fees and other school-related items. Meal payments will continue to be made through SchoolCafé. Additional information and instructions will be shared with families before the start of the school year.

An important reminder for families: Username and Password will remain the same; however, they must provide a valid form of payment in PaySchoolsCentral.

Please include this update in an upcoming newsletter, so families have time to become familiar with the change before the new school year begins.
