Dear Parmenter Families,

As we head into May, things are certainly picking up! This is always a busy and exciting time of year with field trips, school events, and important milestones. Thank you for continuing to support your children and our school community as we move through these final weeks of the year together.

This week is Staff Appreciation Week, and our amazing PCC has organized daily gestures of gratitude to celebrate our dedicated teachers and staff. Here’s a quick look at what’s planned:

• Monday – Lunch for staff

• Tuesday – Non-edible appreciation treats

• Wednesday – Breakfast spread

• Thursday – Another surprise treat

• Friday – Cookies to close out the week sweetly

In addition to these daily surprises, each staff member’s classroom or workspace door has been decorated, and our school marquee proudly honors the week with a special message. These touches help make our team feel seen and valued, and we are so grateful to the PCC for leading this effort!

A few additional notes as we look ahead:

• Grade 5 students will be taking the Science MCAS on Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9. Please ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep and arrives on time.

• A reminder that there is no school for current kindergarten students on Tuesday, May 27 so that we can welcome our incoming kindergarten students for a special visitation event.

• Yearbook orders are closing this week—this is the final call if you’d like to purchase one!

Please take a moment to review the important dates below and mark your calendars as needed.

Transportation Registration for the 2025-26 School Year will open on April 29, 2025. More information on how to register will be posted to the website and emailed to families when registration opens.

Please do your best to have students present on these dates.

The 5th Grade Celebration Committee has begun to plan an awesome celebration for our 5th grade class! SAVE THE DATE: Wednesday June 11th- 5th Grade Celebration! (rain date- June 10th)

If you are a 5th grade parent, please email Amy Papagno at papagnoa@gmail.com. We are putting together an email chain of 5th grade parents. This is where you will receive information about the event- lunch orders, sweatshirt orders, t-shirt orders, volunteering the day of the event... you do not want to miss this information! Please email Amy at your earliest convenience!

Our current 5th graders will be the last class to graduate from Parmenter! Let's make it the best celebration yet! The current estimated cost per student is approximately $150. Our first big fundraising initiative is direct donations from our 5th grade families. If you are able, please use the QR code below, or the flyer in your 5th grader's folder to make a donation. Donations are completely voluntary, but we appreciate the help to make this a great celebration for our 5th graders! THANK YOU!

Staff Appreciation Week is May 5–9, and we're excited to celebrate our amazing Parmenter staff! Each day this week, we’re showing gratitude with small surprises—from meals to treats to thoughtful gestures.

Families, please remind your children that they are welcome to stop by the office or designated table to grab a card for a staff member at any time this week—a handwritten note goes a long way! Let’s make sure our staff feels the love.
