Thank You Veterans
From Principal Favero
Dear Wredling Families
Just as we reset our clocks, November is the perfect time to help our students reset their focus and strengthen the habits that help them thrive. The early sunsets and growing workload can make this season feel heavy, but these moments are where perseverance is built. As schoolwork becomes more challenging and social dynamics more complex, talk with your child about what to do when things get tough—how to problem-solve, when to seek help, and how to keep going when something doesn’t come easily. Celebrate effort and growth, not just grades, because every struggle is a chance to grow stronger.
Middle school isn’t just about learning subjects—it’s about learning resilience. When we encourage students to face challenges with grit and curiosity, they discover that persistence, not perfection, is what leads to real success.
Some other reminders from the principal’s office:
It’s important that families avoid parking or waiting in the front lot during arrival and dismissal at Wredling. When cars stop there, staff lose access to parking, substitutes can’t enter, and traffic slows down—delaying buses and students from getting into the building on time. Our goal is simple: to keep everyone safe and ensure all students and staff have maximum time in the classroom. Every small effort helps! Please take a moment to review our arrival and dismissal expectations here.
At dismissal, students should walk to the Norris Center for pickup. Families waiting in the front lot will be asked to move to Norris, as this area needs to stay clear for buses and safe student movement. Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal smooth and safe for everyone!

We have a special chance coming up for students: the next Wredling Academic Success Session: Saturday School is scheduled for Saturday, November 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
This session is designed for students who have five or more missing assignments (as of the Monday prior) and gives them focused time and support to catch up or get ahead.
Come Share Your Career Journey!
Our 6th-grade Exploring College & Careers class is seeking community members to visit and share about their career journey: what a “day in the life” looks like, what education or training is required, etc. If you are interested in volunteering as a guest speaker at either Thompson Middle School or Wredling Middle School, please complete this Google Form. We would love for our students to hear your story!
WMS Drop Zone
The WMS Drop Zone is a place where parents can “drop” off items that a student might have forgotten at home. Our goal is to maximize student learning time and reduce in-class interruption. The Drop Zone should be used infrequently. We want students to learn that there are natural consequences for forgetting items too often.
WMS Drop Zone Guidelines:
Students will not be called out of class for items brought to the school; they need to check the Drop Zone if they have forgotten an item.
All items must be labeled with the student’s name.
Expected Drop Zone items include: a project, instrument, uniform, or lunch. A good rule of thumb is if the item is important to the student’s health or learning.
Note: When phones are being dropped off for a student, they will be held in the main office until the end of the day.
We encourage students to be responsible for bringing everything to school that he/she will need for the day. Packing a backpack the night before can help with organization. The staff of Wredling Middle School is not responsible for any item left in the Drop Zone.
Reminder about Food/Drink at WMS
Dear WMS Parents and Students:
Parents, please review these expectations with your child. Thank you for helping us ensure our school day runs smoothly with minimal disruption!
Parents are welcome to drop off food/beverages only for their own child - not a group.
- All parent deliveries should be brought to the main office.
- Food and beverages may only be provided for your individual student. Ex: a pizza cannot be purchased for a group of students.
We WILL NOT accept or sign for delivered food/beverages for students.
If an emergency situation requires you to send something for your student, please contact the main office with details so they don't turn away the delivery driver. 331-228-3700
WMS Student Athletes... In addition to the above expectations:
You are encouraged to send them to school with a second lunch/snack. Their day can be long!
The "Snack Shack" in the Cafeteria will be open on Wednesday afternoons during the early release time for the athletes to grab a snack using their lunch account.

Help Us Collect ONE MILLION Pop Tabs!
We’re on a mission to collect one million pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities, and we can’t do it without YOU (and your grandparents, cousins, neighbors, and carpool crew)!
Those tiny aluminum tabs from soda cans, soup lids, or sparkling water may seem small—but when we collect them together, they add up to real support for families with seriously ill children.
Here’s how to pitch in:
Save your pop tabs at home—and ask your grandparents, cousins, friends, and neighbors to do the same!
Bring them to school all year long.
Every tab brings us closer to our 1,000,000-tab goal!
Let's pull together and make a difference!
