Dear Marengo Valley Families,

It's almost time to think about the 2026-27 school year! I hope your summer has been filled with rest, fun, and time with those that bring you joy. As we gear up for another exciting year at Marengo Valley School, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of our new and returning students and families.

At Marengo Valley, we are committed to supporting every child’s learning journey. From high-quality instruction and meaningful interventions to enrichment opportunities and strong family partnerships, we are ready to work together to help each student thrive.

Teacher Information:

Teacher information will be available in Skyward Family Access by August 17. You will be able to sign up for Hopes & Dreams Conferences then, which are scheduled for August 26 and August 31. More information about Hopes & Dreams is included below. If you need assistance with Skyward you can call Katie Nortunen at 715-278-3286 Ext. 5001.

Enrollment:

If you need to enroll a student in 4K-5th grades at MVS, you can contact Terri Getchell at the District Office at tgetchell@sdak12.net or 715-682-7080 Ext. 6019.

Skyward:

Please go into your Skyward Family Access to update information for the 2026-27 school year. You are able to fill out the Free/Reduced Lunch Form in Skyward.

4K Students:

Parents of 4K students will be receiving notification about which days (Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday) students will be attending school on August 10 through email.

Kindergarten Students-Staggered Start:

Parents of kindergarten students will receive notification about what date kindergarten students are starting school (Tuesday, Sept. 1 or Wednesday, Sept. 2) due to the staggered start for kindergarten. This information will be sent through email on August 18. Mrs. Hudack and Mrs. Zar will also share this information with families during Hopes & Dreams Conferences.

The staggered start allows the teacher to work with a smaller number of students at a time, giving each child more individual attention as they learn routines, get to know their classmates, and adjust to the school environment before the whole group comes together.

Family Backback Program

The Backpack program is back for the 2026-27 school year. The Backpack Program provides a bag of nutritious, non-perishable food for your family to prepare a meal during the weekend when school is not in session throughout the school year. Each bag contains items to make a meal for the whole family. For example a bag may contain, pasta sauce, a box of pasta, canned fruit, canned vegetables, shelf stable milk.
