Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our survey regarding an after-school Spanish Club and support opportunities for students enrolled in Florida Virtual School courses.

We are excited to share that, based on student interest, we are offering an after-school program for students who are completing FLVS Spanish or other approved elective courses outside of the regular school day.

Ms. Cosentino, our 8th Grade School Counselor, is providing a welcoming space each Tuesday where students can work on their FLVS coursework alongside peers who are taking similar classes. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to stay on track with assignments, get organized, ask questions, and enjoy a supportive learning environment after school. If interest continues to grow, we will explore adding additional meeting days throughout the week.

Program Details

• Day: Tuesdays

• Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

For families who need transportation, late bus service is available for students who are regular bus riders. Please note that transportation assignments may take up to one week to be processed.

Attached you will find the after-school program paperwork and sign-up form. Completed forms should be returned to the Front Office.

We are excited to provide this opportunity for our students and look forward to helping them connect with one another, build confidence, and be successful in their online coursework. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Ms. Cosentino or Mrs. Gordon.

Toys and stuffed animals should NOT be brought to school. Please remind your students that these items should stay at home.

Adjustment to the student second meal price for the 2026-27 school year.

Following guidance from our State Agency, the price must be increased to $5.00 effective this school year.

The reason for this change is that second meals are not eligible for federal reimbursement, meaning the district must recover the full cost of providing those meals. Federal regulations require that second lunch pricing be equal to the free student meal rate, plus the federal reimbursement rate, plus the value of USDA Foods (commodities/bonus foods).
