A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill
December 7, 2025
Dear Coyote Community,
I hope everyone was able to enjoy a relaxing weekend after what turned into a chaotic start on Friday. I truly appreciate everyone’s care, attention, and patience during the winter weather event. Despite the challenges with staff and students delayed in traffic, we ultimately enjoyed the day on a high note with an energetic and fun winter pep rally.
This week, our Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) will hold its quarterly review of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) on Tuesday, December 9, from 2:45–3:30 p.m. in the Media Center. Staff, students, and caregivers who are interested in attending are invited to sign up here. We already have a few sign-ups and would love to welcome more voices into the conversation.
On Monday, we continue our “December to Remember” celebration leading up to winter break. Please check out the calendar below to join in on the daily themes—your participation brings joy and connection to our school community.
As excitement for the upcoming break grows, I want to remind everyone how important it is to attend all classes and give 100 percent effort on all remaining assignments. As noted previously, grades are calculated differently this year, and there is no more trending. Students must finish the semester with a minimum average of 60 percent to earn credit. Caregivers, please help reinforce this message at home as we work together to support student success.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Clarksburg community. Here’s to a wonderful week ahead!
Warmly,
Ms. O’Neill

Celebrations
Winter Pep Rally
We held our Winter Pep Rally on Friday to kick off the start of sports. The energy was high, the games were fun and the student performances were awesome. Thank you to Ms. Parks and the SGA for organizing the event. Thank you to Ms. Petronio, Carlos Wims and Harry Mendoza Gonzalez for serving as MCs and keeping things moving. Finally, thank you to our Athletics Boosters who sold CHS swag during the pep rally, at lunch and again Friday night at the opening Boys' Basketball game.
College Financial Aid Session
On December 4, CHS PTSA successfully hosted a very engaging session on College Financial Aid — and the energy in the room was incredible. Parents and students were actively asking questions, sharing concerns, and having real conversations about planning for college costs. The session was highly informative, covering key aspects of financial aid that every family should understand.
