Ready to Launch: A Vision Built Together Ready to Launch: A Vision Built Together

Dear Rocket Nation,

For many years, Learning Without Limits helped shape teaching and learning throughout Spring Grove Area School District. It encouraged students to think critically, take ownership of their learning, solve problems, and build meaningful connections with others. That work has helped shape who we are, and it continues to influence the way we serve students every day.

As our district has grown, so has our understanding of what we want every student to experience and become. Over the past year, students, staff, parents, and community members came together through the Rocket Promise Citizens Advisory Committee to define that vision.

Their work resulted in the Rocket Promise and the Portrait of a Rocket, two community-created frameworks that reflect the values, aspirations, and priorities of SGASD.

A Vision Created by Our Community

The Rocket Promise and Portrait of a Rocket weren't created behind closed doors or by a small leadership team. They were developed through months of conversation, collaboration, and feedback from students, staff, families, and community members.

The words and ideas that emerged came directly from those conversations and the community survey, creating a vision that is uniquely Spring Grove. Because this work was shaped by our community, it belongs to our community.

That shared ownership is what makes this work so meaningful.

Moving Forward Together

As we reflected on the work our community created, we recognized something important.

The values that guided Learning Without Limits are still reflected in who we are today. They live on in the Rocket Promise and the Portrait of a Rocket. Rather than maintaining multiple frameworks that communicate many of the same ideas, we're bringing our district together around one shared vision that is rooted in our community's voice.

This isn't a change in what we believe. It's an evolution of how we express those beliefs and how we unite around them. (Click the infographic to learn more about the connection.)

As we begin this school year, Ready to Launch will become the foundation for how we communicate our shared vision across the Spring Grove Area School District.
