Packed with puns, sight gags, and plenty of surprises, the show promises an evening full of laughter and mystery. Audience members are even encouraged to come in costume!

Love or knowledge: Which would you choose?

Set in 1896 at Girton College, Cambridge, the first college in Britain to admit women, Blue Stockings is an eye-opening, funny, and moving story about four young women fighting for the right of education and self-determination against the larger backdrop of the women's suffrage movement.

These ambitious "Girton girls" study fiercely and earn the same grades as their male peers. Yet, a stark injustice remains: when the men graduate, the women are forced to leave with no degree, just the stigma of being a 'blue stocking', an unnatural, educated woman. Unqualified and unmarriageable, their future hangs in the balance.

Follow Tess Moffat and her fellow first-years over one tumultuous academic year as they are determined to win the right to graduate. Playwright Jessica Swale's debut drama chronicles the incredible hurdles in their path: the complicated distractions of love, the difficult reality of the class divide, and the relentless strength of the opposition who will stop at nothing to ensure they fail.
