CELC News & Updates

Hello Creekside Families,

I hope that everyone had an amazing weekend. My husband and I were able to enjoy watching our daughter play softball and volleyball! We are so excited that she gets to play again! Even with the restrictions, we enjoy every minute watching her on the court and in the field! I am not sure I have a voice left after ALL of that cheering!

We are in the midst of actively planning for the 2021-2022 school year. The District is excited to be planning for a full return. As you can imagine, fluctuations in enrollment can impact staffing. If you have not filled it out yet, please do it as soon as possible. The due date was Friday, the 16th but we only have about 50% participation. PLEASE SEE CELC's LINK BELOW.

Weekly Reminders and Updates:

Online registration is open. CELC is hosting Virtual Registration Round Ups to help incoming parents with the registration process and answer any questions about our school and our programs. Please spread the word if you know any families with incoming Cubs. See flyer and link below.
PTA needs your support. Please consider purchasing a PTA membership. They also have CELC t-shirts available for purchase.
Virtual First Grade Orientations are coming soon. Mark your calendars! Both BOES and SHES are hosting their orientations on April 22. SHES's will be at 2:15 pm and BOES's will be at 3:00 pm.
In-person promotion ceremonies for kindergarten students are being planned. We will announce dates and times by Wednesday, April 21.
On Wednesday, April 21, there is a optional virtual assembly that your student may attend. See the link and times below.
Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require an extended stay at home.
AUSD continues to serve food during our 4-Day Schedule on Mondays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at JMMS. If that time doesn't work for you, there is also a 5:00 pm pick up.
Child Nutrition Services offers snack pick up for students at CELC during pick up times on Mondays. The grab and go snack bag will contain 5 days worth of snacks. This is available to all students 18 and under.

The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.

We Are Hiring

If you, or any of your friends/family, love kids and are looking for part time work, please share our postings. We have a couple of positions on our site as well as on other campuses. Please visit https://www.edjoin.org/alpineschools. Creekside is currently looking for two student supervisors. Please send friendly, qualified candidates our way!

The district would like to increase the number of substitute teachers in our pool. The pay has increased to $200 dollars a day. Please help spread the word. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Ripke.

Wish List

Thank you to those who have already donated. We appreciate it so much!. We continue to increase our inventory of recess equipment and other supplies to accommodate larger groups of students. If you are willing and able to donate, please consider buying something from our wish list. Items we are most in need/want at this time are: Nerf footballs, bouncy balls, soccer balls, Flying Turtles, and catch a ball sets. Please feel free to share our wish list if you know of anyone in your family or community members that may want to help.

To help foster school spirit and stay connected, the Alpine Union School District will post Virtual Fun Friday Spirit Days. Postings will be on the AUSD Facebook and Instagram Pages. If you are not already following us on FB or IG, please join us! We hope that you will all participate and post pictures on social media using the hashtags provided. Action for Happiness calendars are packed with actions you can take to help create a happier and kinder world. Take a look at the April Calendar. Keeping active is a great way to boost our mental wellbeing. So this month Action for Happiness is encouraging everyone to get moving and get outdoors as much as possible. Whatever your circumstances or physical limitations, you can find your own ways to be a bit more active. We don't need to run marathons - there are simple things we can all do to take care of our bodies, like unplugging from technology, reconnecting with nature and getting more sleep! Join CELC in staying active and healthy this month!
