Looking for Support for Your Child or Teen?
This form is for families to complete if you are concerned about how your child is doing academically, social emotionally, or behaviorally. Please note, your first contact should be your child's teacher(s). If you have not spoken with your child's teacher(s), please collaborate and determine next steps. If after that, you are still concerned, please complete this form. Someone from our student support team will respond to requests within 3 school days. We thank you for partnering with us!
Appointments and Absence Excuses Made Easy!
No more worries about missing doctor, dentist, or counseling appointment notes for your kids. Take a picture of the note from your child's appointment and email it to Denise at
attendance.indianola@columbus.k12.oh.us
If your child is out sick, an email to the teacher and the attendance email above is prefered over a phone call to the school. This also allows you to keep track of your child's absences as we Strive for 5!
(Five or fewer school absences for the school year helps students suceed)
We are asking families to help us encourage children and teens to show up consistently, arrive on time, and stay connected to learning.
Become a Family Leader in Your School Community!
The Family Leaders for Ohio Schools Academy, from the Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center, is a leadership program designed for you: parents and caregivers of children enrolled in K-12 Ohio public schools. In this program, you will connect with other parent leaders, build leadership skills, learn how to collaborate with local school leaders, and design and lead a project that meets a need in your school. The next Academy begins in January 2027. Learn more and apply by November 9, 2026, here www.go.osu.edu/flacademy.
Monday Mentors Needed
Are you a parent, grandparent, or community member that would like to volunteer to mentor a student? We are seeking adult mentors to connect with students by sharing knowledge, offering encouragement, and modeling positive social skills. Volunteers would meet with students weekly on Mondays from 2:30- 3:15 PM in the library. All materials and activities will be provided by Indy staff for each session. We hope you will consider making a difference—one student at a time! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Tiffany Alexander (5-8 School Counselor) at talexander4@columbus.k12.oh.us.
