Appointments and Absence Excuses Made Easy!

No more worries about missing doctor, dentist, or counseling appointment notes for your kids. Take a picture of the note from your child's appointment and email it to Denise at

attendance.indianola@columbus.k12.oh.us

If your child is out sick, an email to the teacher and the attendance email above is prefered over a phone call to the school. This also allows you to keep track of your child's absences as we Strive for 5!

(Five or fewer school absences for the school year helps students suceed)

We are asking families to help us encourage children and teens to show up consistently, arrive on time, and stay connected to learning.

In this program, you will connect with other parent leaders, build leadership skills, learn how to collaborate with local school leaders, and design and lead a project that meets a need in your school. The next Academy begins in January 2027. Learn more and apply by November 9, 2026, here www.go.osu.edu/flacademy.

Monday Mentors Needed

Are you a parent, grandparent, or community member that would like to volunteer to mentor a student? We are seeking adult mentors to connect with students by sharing knowledge, offering encouragement, and modeling positive social skills. Volunteers would meet with students weekly on Mondays from 2:30- 3:15 PM in the library. All materials and activities will be provided by Indy staff for each session. We hope you will consider making a difference—one student at a time! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Tiffany Alexander (5-8 School Counselor) at talexander4@columbus.k12.oh.us.
