NES Read-A-Thon
It's time for the North Elementary Read-A-Thon!
Our school Read-A-Thon begins on Wednesday October 1, 2025 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event.
We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That's why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student's Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time.
This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link below to activate your student's Reader account:

This month's focus: I'm the Driver
This week at school, our students are learning about being the driver of their own life — taking personal responsibility for their actions. We are emphasizing the importance of not blaming others or complaining, but instead feeling empowered to make choices, take risks, and make the changes necessary to achieve the results they want.
Scenario:
Imagine a student who didn’t study for a math quiz and received a lower grade than expected. Instead of blaming the teacher or saying, “Math is too hard,” the student chooses to take responsibility: they ask questions, study a little each day, and try different strategies to improve. By taking charge, the student is “driving” their own success.
Action Step for Home:
Encourage your child to identify one area where they can take responsibility this week — whether it’s completing homework on time, helping with chores, or practicing a new skill. Ask them to come up with one action they can take to improve the outcome, and celebrate their efforts and progress.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us spread kindness and positive energy!
