Message from the Principal
CCHS Students & Families:
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! It’s been exciting to see our students preparing for the many fall activities ahead. Our custodial staff has been hard at work ensuring clean and safe learning environments, while our teachers and staff have been planning and recharging for another successful year.
We are fortunate to have modern facilities, incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. At Central Crossing, we will continue to focus on the Four R’s:
RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, RECOGNITION, and RESILIENCE
These guiding principles will remain at the heart of our school culture and classrooms. We ask that you partner with us in encouraging students to work hard, do their best, and seek support when needed. Together, we can help our students develop these essential qualities.
Here are a few important updates:

What's Happening at Central Crossing High School
SUMMER OFFICE HOURS
Our front office will be open on weekdays throughout the summer from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Cell Phones
As students, staff, and parents likely already know, this summer Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 96 into law, requiring every school district in Ohio to restrict cell phone usage during school hours and aims to minimize student use of cell phones in K-12 schools. Last year, SWCS began substantial steps towards achieving this goal through our #BePresentCampaign prohibiting the use of cell phones during instructional times in all schools.
Heading into the 2025-2026 school year, students will be expected to have devices on silent mode and out of sight to keep their attentiveness on learning. This includes restricted access during lunch and study halls. Families can help our schools in reinforcing these healthy boundaries, by discussing the new expectations with their student(s) at home. Working collaboratively with families to reinforce these expectations, we look forward to helping students understand the importance of a distraction-free classroom to start the year as a part of our #BePresent campaign to make oneself fully present in daily learning.

SWCS Transportation Information
2025-2026 Transportation Opt-in/Opt-Out (all families)
As South Western City Schools look ahead to the summer with transportation planning for the 2025–2026 school year, we are asking all families to complete our K–12 Transportation Opt-In/Opt-Out Form. Your participation will help us build more efficient and effective routes to support students to maximize route efficiencies and avoid reserving empty seats for families not intending to use the bus.
2025–2026 K–12 Transportation Opt-In/Out Form – ENGLISH
2025–2026 K–12 Transportation Opt-In/Out Form – SPANISH
2025–2026 K–12 Transportation Opt-In/Out Form – SOMALI
A note about 11th/12th grade Transportation
Each year, many families—particularly those with students in grades 11 and 12—choose not to use the bus daily. However, a seat is still reserved "just in case." By collecting accurate information about which students plan to use district transportation, we can reduce the number of unused seats, optimize bus routes, and improve efficiency across our fleet.
Your assistance is vital and greatly appreciated as we work to deliver safe and reliable transportation for all students!
FAQs
Who should complete this form?
All South Western City Schools families with students in grades K–12 should complete this form to indicate their intent to use (Opt-In) or not use (Opt-Out) district transportation for the 2025–2026 school year. Please complete one form per student.
What about high school juniors and seniors (grades 11–12)?
Students in grades 11 and 12 must opt in to be assigned a daily seat on a school bus. If a student has not opted in but later needs to ride, a seat can be requested through their school office. This request may take up to 24 hours to process.
I don’t know my child’s student ID—where can I find it?
Student ID numbers can be found in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal (select your child’s picture to view their ID), within your child’s SWCSD email address, or on printed student progress reports. You can also contact ic.help@swcsd.us for assistance.
Empowering Young Women: Join ROX to Build Leadership Skills
Is your teenage girl interested in strengthening her leadership skills? ROX may be for her! ROX stands for Ruling Our Experiences and is a research-based program for girls. The program is a 20-week curriculum during school delivered by trained and licensed school counselors that teaches girls to:
- Discover their unique strengths
- Build powerful friendships
- Unlock the leadership potential they already have
- Strengthen their voice
- Master stress-busting techniques
Please complete this survey if you or your CCHS girl is interested. Each girl must have a study hall all year to be able to participate because the group meets once a week during study hall. CCHS can cover the cost for a limited number of girls to participate, so there is no charge for the families.
