Key News for Families

District News and Information
A referendum to replace Park View Middle School and update some of the elementary schools failed to win voter support in April. We acknowledge and respect the community's decision. We now need to decide how to address the needs at the middle school.
We have reached out to community members to better understand why the referendum was not supported. The primary concerns we heard were cost and tax impact. The district does not believe putting more money into the existing middle school is a good use of tax dollars. Therefore, we revised the plan to replace the building at a lower cost.
Community Survey:
A survey has been mailed to all district homes with instructions on how to complete the survey. Each survey will have a code which can be used once. To obtain additional surveys for other adults in your household, please call the District Office at 262.363.6300. Please complete the survey by June 24. Results will be reported at a school board meeting and available on the district website later this summer.

Join us at Park View Middle School on Wednesday, June 5, at 6 p.m. for a Community Listening Session. Learn more about our revised plan and the lower tax impact on our community.

Lunch Account Angel Fund Needs Your Help!
The Mukwonago Area School District food service department has set up an “Angel Fund” to help families in need whose children have negative lunch account balances they are unable to pay. This has been a tough year for some of our MASD families and we have more negative lunch accounts than usual.
Families are placed on the Angel Fund list based upon recommendation from our school social workers, counselors, nurses, administrators and/or faculty. Families are first processed to see if they qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program. In some cases, the income level is just above the limit and the family is unable to obtain financial assistance from government sources. The Angel Fund is used to pay negative lunch account balances accrued by these families. Any remaining funds are used to offer future meals to their children.
To contribute to the Angel Fund, please make your check payable to MASD. Write “Angel Fund” in the note section. Contributions should be sent to the Central Kitchen, 605 W. Veterans Way, Mukwonago, WI 53149 — or to the main office at your child’s school. Donations are tax deductible; a receipt will be sent to each donor.
