Message from the Principal - April 26, 2024
Hello Pyle Families,
It is time for our SPRING Parent Title 1 survey. Please take a minute to give us your feedback on our survey. Your valuable input will guide our planning for next year.
Our "Attendance Challenge" is in full swing. Students are challenged to be on time every day between April 15, and May 15 to be invited to the "No Tardy Party." Help your student set their alarm and be on time to get to this celebration.
Next week, we will have two family events on campus.
Wednesday, May 1, will be our Kindergarten Visitation Day. If you have an incoming TK or Kindergarten student or if you would like to know more about our TK and Kindergarten program at Ernie Pyle please join us in the cafeteria at 9:00 am. The teachers will be sharing about our program and we will have the opportunity to visit our classrooms and see learning in action. This is a great time to come and see our program and ask any questions you may have. Hope to see you there.
Thursday, May 2, is OPEN HOUSE. Students will be dismissed on Thursday, at 12:35 pm. The front gate will open at 4:50 pm. Our Tk-4 music program ETMLA will have a parent presentation in the cafeteria from 5-5:30 pm. At 5:30 in the cafeteria, we will have an introduction of staff members and a PTA meeting. From 5:45-6:45 pm, our classrooms will be open for you to visit and see what our students have prepared for you. We will have vendors and community partners available on campus from 4:50-6:45. We hope you will be able to join us for this wonderful family evening.

School Store
Ernie Pyle has partnered with "School Store." We have already had many families share this information with families and friends and students have earned reading buddy prizes to encourage their love of reading. Thank you to those of you who have already used the link provided to conduct your online shopping and to those of you who have donated gift cards to our classrooms. Students can continue turning in envelopes with the code earned from sharing 10 emails to earn their reading buddy all year long. Additional prizes can be earned by using our link to begin your everyday online shopping journey. We appreciate your support!

Safety First - Ernie Pyle verkada SIGN IN SYSTEM
All BUSD schools use the Verkada sign-in system. All visitors on campus will be asked to scan their ID to sign into our visitor management system and receive a sticker complete with the visitor's name and picture to let everyone on campus know that the person has signed in and is clear to be on campus. If you need to come onto campus for any reason please be sure to have your ID with you so that you can sign into our system.
FREE on the Ernie Pyle Campus - YMCA Before School Care
The YMCA has partnered with Ernie Pyle to provide free child care before school. This program through BUSD is offered at no cost to families, at all elementary sites. This program has a capacity of 30 students per school through YMCA. Students will be provided breakfast, engage in fun games and activities, and be able to connect with friends before school. If you would like to enroll in our before-school program, please CLICK HERE and be sure to complete one Google form for each student. After you have completed the registration link, you will be contacted by the YMCA to complete any additional needed enrollment forms. At this time, we have not exceeded program capacity and still have spaces available.
