Deer Run Newsletter

Deer Run Families,
Thank you for a wonderful week at Deer Run!
We are nearing the end of our middle-of-year testing window for both MAP and DIBELS assessments. Our students have worked incredibly hard to show their growth and progress, and we are so proud of the effort and perseverance they’ve demonstrated. These assessments help us better understand each child’s strengths and needs so we can continue providing targeted support and meaningful learning experiences.
Thank you for helping your children come to school prepared, well-rested, and ready to do their best during this important time. Your encouragement at home truly makes a difference.
Please take a look at the updates below regarding our Week of Resilience and the DRE Art Show for additional information about these exciting upcoming events.
As always, we are grateful to be part of such a supportive and caring school community. We look forward to another great week ahead!
Have a wonderful weekend!

February Focus at Deer Run – Celebrating Resilience
Deer Run Families,
This month at Deer Run, we are excited to focus on the important character trait of resilience: learning how to bounce back, keep trying, and grow through challenges.
Throughout February, students will participate in classroom lessons and activities centered on resilience. Our Deer Run Announcement Team will also write and perform special skits focused on resilience, helping reinforce these skills in fun and meaningful ways for our students.
We are also looking forward to two engaging student assemblies:
The Ohio Wildlife Center Wildlife Assembly on February 11, highlighting resilience in wildlife and nature
A special presentation by Jim "Basketball" Jones on Tuesday, February 24, focused on resilience, character, and perseverance
During the week of February 23–27, we will celebrate our Deer Run Week of Resilience, which will include daily spirit wear themes, along with classroom theme focuses and activities to help students practice teamwork, positivity, and perseverance.
We will also host a Family Night of Resilience on Thursday, February 26 from 6:00–7:30 PM. Families can enjoy fun and engaging activities that celebrate the strength and resilience of our students and school community. We are looking forward to ALL of our families attending this special evening together!
We are incredibly thankful to the Dublin Education Foundation and the Deer Run PTO for sponsoring this amazing opportunity for our school community.
Please see the flyer below for specific information regarding Spirit Week! We’re excited for a meaningful and memorable month ahead.
Dismissal Changes
In the event of an emergency and the need to change a student's dismissal method be sure to send an email to the classroom teacher AND the attendance email (Dres_attendance@dublinschools.net). Teachers are extremely busy during the school day, therefore, it is not guaranteed that the teacher would have time to review the parent email prior to dismissal. Be sure to submit changes as early as possible to increase the likelihood that the communication will be received by our school team prior to dismissal.
Student Car Drop Off and Pick Up
As a reminder, car drop off and pick up for all students should take place at the back door of the school. Last school year, students were being dropped off at Grizzell, in the school parking lot, and in the neighborhood adjacent to the school. We want to ensure that all of our students are safely dropped off at school, therefore only the backdoor area should be used. Also, we also want to be considerate of our neighbors that live in the homes adjacent to the school. Therefore, adhering to this guidelines is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
