A Message to Parents: Keeping Us Informed
We know that life outside of school can sometimes affect how a student feels, learns, and interacts at school. If your child is going through something at home or experiencing a change that may impact them during the school day, please consider letting us know.
You do not need to share details that you are not comfortable sharing. Even a simple message letting us know that your child is dealing with something and may need a little extra understanding or support can be helpful.
When we are aware that something may be affecting a student, we can be more intentional about checking in, providing support, and understanding changes in behavior, focus, mood, or academic performance.
You know your child best, and we value being a part of their support system. Working together and keeping the lines of communication open helps us better support your child at school.
If there is something happening that you think we should know about, please reach out to any of the following:

Learning About Monarch Butterflies!
Students welcomed special guests Lynne Campbell and Frank Olson from Pathfinders RC&D, who are working to improve pollinator habitat in our area.
Students had the opportunity to learn about the different stages of the monarch butterfly life cycle, including adults, chrysalises, 5th instars, and smaller instars. They also learned about wild monarch butterflies and how they are tagged and released to help track their migration.
What a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our students! 🌱🦋
Students in Mrs. Gast's Composition classes in Riceville and Osage participated in a figurative language "tasting." They were given edible objects and had to write pieces of figurative language about the items.
