• Wind Ensemble students perform Star Spangled Banner for Drum Major candidates, 5:30-6:00pm

Thursday, April 23rd

• Wind Ensemble Rehearsal (no percussion), 7:15-8:45am, on stage
• Color Guard Recruiting at Danville, call time in DHS Band hall 7:00am, lunch provided, wear black Davenport shirt and either black colorguard shorts or leggings
• Permission slip is required to travel with us on this day
• Golf state sendoff, 4:20pm
• Dallas Trip Meeting, DHS Band Hall, 6:30pm

• Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble perform at American Classics music festival (see information below)

Here is the schedule for our performance at the American Classics Music Festival on Friday, April 24th at Boerne Champion High School PAC. We encourage parents to come for the performances! We will wear tuxes and dresses.

Students need to bring the following items to school on Friday.

• Black dress shoes (closed toes, can be marching shoes)
• Black crew length socks or hosiery
• White undershirt for boys

Schedule for the day:

• 9am Band Hall opens, eat breakfast before you arrive, percussion help load risers and concert equipment
• 9:45am Call Time for all Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble students
• 10am Change into concert attire
• 10:30am Depart DHS
• 11:30am Arrive and unload at Boerne Champion HS
• 12pm Symphonic Band Warm Up
• 12:30pm Symphonic Band Perform / Wind Ensemble Warm Up
• 1pm Wind Ensemble Perform
• 2pm Depart for DHS
• 3pm Arrive at DHS, Change out of concert uniform, unload
• 3:30pm Depart for Dallas Trip

An email with relevant Dallas Trip information was sent last Thursday evening. Please email Mr. Lehmann if you are signed up for the trip and did not receive the Dallas Trip email.

All students who qualified for TSSEC are invited to Fine Arts Awards night. See the flyer below for more information. You will receive an email this week with the invite.

Our Purcell Suite brass quintet is playing at the beginning of the ceremony. The quintet will need to rehearse at Pieper High School at 3:30pm. Dinner will be provided for these five performers.

Tickets are now for sale for the 2026 Band Banquet. Banquet is on May 9th, 2026 from 6pm-11:30pm. Doors will open at 5:30pm. We are looking forward to celebrating yet another historic year for the Wolf Band.

Tickets are $50 each and sales are limited due to seating capacity.

Tickets on Sale now until banquet, but the price increases on March 29th and again on April 26th.

Please note the following from our Band Handbook about Band Banquet.

• Students who are ineligible two out of the three 9 weeks grading periods lose the privilege of attending the Band Banquet. All fees must be paid in full for students to purchase a band banquet ticket.

Elections are approaching for the booster board next year. Treasurer and Vice President are confirmed vacancies. If you are interested in volunteering, or are interested in more information about any of the positions, please reach out to Lisa Humphrey at lisa.humphrey@comalisd.org.

Our band boosters are a huge reason why our students are able to achieve so many things. Please consider volunteering!

We are so proud of the 75 students who advanced to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest (TSSEC). These students will attend contest on Monday, May 25th in the South Austin area. Please mark your calendars.

All students who advanced to TSSEC will be recognized at the Fine Arts awards night on April 29th at Pieper HS. Please mark you calendars for this event as well.

This week, outstanding balances will be sent to DHS front office. Statements are being emailed biweekly through Presto.

Here is the scholarship application for seniors. Scholarship applications will be available in the band hall the week after spring break if you do not have access to a printer. We are so thankful that our booster club is able to offer six scholarships to our graduating seniors. Seniors, please fill out the attached application and required materials (detailed on page 1 of the application) and turn in to Mr. Lehmann by Monday, April 13, 2026 in a sealed envelope. Please do not email your submission.
