Week of February 5, 2023 Week of February 5, 2023

Good Morning,

We hope everyone braved the frigid temperatures the last few days, safely.

Since the groundhog saw his shadow we can expect another 6 weeks of winter. Please be sure your child comes to school with a warm jacket, hat and mittens. The staff tries to get students outside when the weather is appropriate for outdoor play. Spending time on the playground or taking a walk outside is a great opportunity for students to be physically active and engage in various forms of play. We know that children develop a variety of foundational social and emotional skills such as problem solving, developing friendships, self management, and responsible decision making just to name a few.

New Check out the Social Emotional Corner to be featured each week. This corner aligns to the work we do at the PreK surrounding social/emotional development and is tied in to our PBS initiative (Positive Behavior Solutions) and Super Friend. We hope our families find these tips helpful!

Health and Safety:

If your child is out for more than 3 consecutive days, you must have a doctor's note in order for your child to return to school. If you need to email Nurse Hilton her email is as follows:

bernadette.hilton@weymouthschools.org

In Massachusetts, the law requires every person riding in a passenger motor vehicle to wear a seat belt that is properly fastened and adjusted. Children are required to sit in a federally approved child passenger restraint. The child's seat should be suitable for their age and weight. Please make sure your children are properly buckled into their seatbelts before exiting the school driveway.
