📚 Book Your Learning Conversation Today

Our upcoming Learning Conversations (Parent/Teacher Interviews) are an important opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, celebrate progress, and discuss next steps in their learning journey.

We know that strong partnerships between home and school make a powerful difference—when we work together, our tamariki thrive.

👉 Bookings are now open – we encourage all whānau to make a time. Your voice matters, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Lights! Camera! ACTION!

A very exciting experience for some of our senior kapa haka students, who had a visit with Zac and Jake from Kea Kids News last week

These students became reporters, interviewing each other about their experience of being in kapa haka and also gave a short performance.

This is SUPER COOL and we look forward to having this go live on the the Kea Kids News Website. Ka mau te wehi!

Kia tu Kia toa Kia mau- accept the challenge!

💚 How Are Our Students Feeling?

At Te Aroha Primary, we’ve been using Linewize Pulse to regularly check in on how our tamariki are feeling—and the results give us lots to celebrate, as well as some areas to keep growing.

Here’s a quick snapshot of what our learners are telling us:

🌱 Most of our students feel great or positive

  • 60% of students report feeling either great or positive at school.

  • A small group (around 2%) let us know they need some help—and we’re grateful they trust us enough to say so. These insights help us act early to support them.

🌟 Top strengths at TAPS

  • Students feel valued and safe (8.0/10)

  • They’re confident they have the material basics they need (8.3/10)

  • They feel they are participating, learning, and have a positive sense of identity at school

💬 What our tamariki are most grateful for:

  • Whānau (44 mentions), friends (31), and good health (10) lead the way

  • They’re also showing a strong sense of appreciation for home, food, and the environment

🙌 Gratitude is alive and well at TAPS!

  • Over 1400 gratitude messages have been shared by students and staff this year

  • The most common values being recognised? Kindness, fairness, humour, and determination

We’re proud to be building a culture where wellbeing, belonging, and connection come first. Thank you for being part of this journey—we’re stronger together.
