Midterms Available and Accessing Grades through IC Parent Portal

The first Nine Weeks Midterm grade reports will be available through Parent Portal on Friday, September 19th. Do you need help with Infinite Campus Parent Portal? Don’t know how to check on your child’s grades? Check out this IC Parent Portal Grades Doc for help.

Behavior Point System

We are approaching the time for each grade level to have a quarterly incentive reward. Students must have at least four out of a possible five points in order to attend reward days, field trips, and dances throughout the year. The graphic has additional details explaining how students can lose and earn points back.

Additional parent members needed on committees

Thank you to those parents who volunteered to serve on the Parent and Family Engagement committee. We have additional opportunities to serve on other school committees. Please read the name and description of each committee below.

PBIS committee: uses data and research to review and recommend changes to discipline and classroom management policies, while also focusing on implementing social-emotional learning to proactively support student behavior.
Technology committee: develops and oversees the annual school budget and the allocation of resources, with a specific focus on recommending and monitoring technology investments based on identified needs.
School culture committee: responsible for planning and implementing school-wide clubs and recognition programs, including incentives, monthly themes, and awards for both students and staff.
Curriculum and instruction committee: focuses on academic policy and instructional best practices, with a specific charge to develop plans for student interventions, monitor academic data systems, and research and recommend improvements to advanced courses and homework policies.

Note to Families: NTI Information

Dear Families,

This note contains important information about our Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) plan.

Student Work & Access

All students will receive NTI packets in their homeroom class the week of September 29th. These packets will contain work for all 10 NTI days and should stay at home.
For students with internet access, there is an option to complete assignments online. All online assignments will be posted by 8:00 AM on the morning of the NTI day.

Teacher Availability

Teachers will be available to help students via Google Meet from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
All student NTI information, including assignments and the Google Meet link, will be posted in your student's Google Classroom under the "NTI" category.
To support families who need help in the evenings, at least one teacher from each grade will be available from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM for each NTI day. This contact information will be posted on Google classroom and shared by individual grade levels.
Teachers will also be available during school hours to respond to emails.

The District Gifted and Talented program will begin screening students in grades 4-8 in the area of Visual and Performing Arts. If your child is interested in the audition process to be identified in the area of Art, Music, Dance, or Drama, please read the information in the linked document. Join EJMS National Junior Beta

EJMS National Junior Beta is looking for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who are passionate about service, leadership, achievement, and character. Junior Beta is a chance to share artistic and academic talents and skills as well as an opportunity for growing as student leaders through weekly chapter meetings, state and national conventions, and so much more. Find out more about joining Beta from one of our sponsors: Sheena Roller, Carrie Mahagan-Kinkade, and Victoria Grillo. We're inviting any students who are interested in finding out more about what happens at Beta and if this might be the place for them to join us on Sept. 17. We will be having a parent interest meeting on Sept. 17 at 5:30 for parents and families to learn more.

Junior Beta Student Application

The 7th Grade Class Trip to Charleston, South Carolina will take place between February 26-28th, 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for our students to travel to a historical location, to make connections between topics learned in class and the real world, and to make memories with their friends.
