As we prepare to enter September, we are proud of the strong momentum already building at CSLA! Each day, our students are rising to new challenges, demonstrating their strengths, and laying the foundation for a successful year ahead.

Students have now completed their Beginning-of-Year assessments, including STAR Renaissance reading and math assessments and DIBELS. Our teachers have begun reviewing the results, and we are excited about the strengths our students are already demonstrating, the growth ahead, and the incredible academic potential this school year holds!

Beginning the week of September 8, all Kโ€“8 students will be expected to complete weekly math fluency homework for the remainder of the school year. Some students may have already received their first assignment. After that, teachers will assign math fluency homework each Monday, and students will be expected to return it completed on Thursday.

Math fluency is important because it helps students recall basic math facts quickly and accurately. When these foundational skills become automatic, students can focus more of their attention on understanding and solving increasingly complex problems. Students who do not return their completed homework will complete it during Friday Fun Time.

We encourage you to sit with your child and support them as they work through the problems. This consistent practice will help strengthen their confidence, accuracy, and overall math skills.

As we continue our journey into September, we know that reaching the summit happens one step at a time. We cannot wait to see how much our students learn, grow, and achieve this year as we climb together! ๐Ÿโ›ฐ๏ธ

Have a wonderful weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚
