WETWANG CEPRIMARY SCHOOLWEEK ENDING 17TH JANUARY 2020

'Learning and growing in the love of God.' (1 John 4:16)

LOTS OF NEW LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Our new term brings with it eager children and many opportunities to learn. These are our new Topics in each class. We wonder what your children have been talking about and sharing with you already?

Class 1 - Is it about the unidentified object in the Learning Garden?

Class 2 - Or perhaps investigating the difference between contact and non-contact forces?

Class 3 - Or have they been explaining about the Black Death and how the people of the Middle Ages believed it could be cured?

SCHOOL DISCO - Thurs 13th February

We are holding a school Disco for Reception to Year 6 children in school in the School Hall 6-7pm . Entry is £2.50. This includes a drink and hot-dog. Please ask your child to bring money to school on the day of the Disco.

Sweets and sticker tattoos will be available to buy on the night should the children wish.

We'd love to see your child there!

LISTENING TO YOU

We would like to thank all parents and carers for working hard to ensure that their children attend school every day. Research over many decades on attendance shows a clear link between excellent attendance and academic attainment. Put quite simply - the more your children can be at school the more likely it is for them to reach their potential. Added benefits include shaping their mindset about attendance and punctuality in the world of work.

Our whole school attendance target (under Ofsted expectations) is 96.5%. Currently it is at 92.3%. (We are aware that over the Winter period there has been considerable sickness - flu and the like in our school.)

As part of our yearly attendance monitoring systems and to keep you fully informed about your child's attendance we are sending out a copy of their current attendance for your records next week. Should you have any questions about these reports please speak with your child's class teacher or with the office.

CHANGING THE WORLD

The first two Big Questions were 'Why should we Forgive?' and 'What is worship?'

Our Debate Club ponders questions also. What does your child think about the question below?

CHURCH, GOVERNORS AND COMMUNITY

We are always on the look out for helpers or readers in school. If you or somebody you know is interested please let the office staff know or alternatively we have book in the entrance where you can leave your details.
