Benefits Open Enrollment
Benefits Open Enrollment began on Monday, April 27, 2026 and ends on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Due to high utilization over the past 18 months, the Joint Insurance Committee (JIC) has recommended plan design changes to all three district health plans. These adjustments allow us to mitigate a projected 13.5% premium increase, bringing it down to a more manageable 9.8%.
What You Need to Know:
Mandatory Election: Because all three medical plans are changing effective July 1, 2026, all employees currently enrolled in a medical plan must make an active election. * Default Enrollment: If you do not make an active selection by May 11, 2026, you will be automatically enrolled in the PPO Select 2 plan.
Exceptions: If you are enrolled in the Hospital Reimbursement Plan (HRP), no action is required unless you wish to change your coverage.
Dental & Vision: There are no changes to dental or vision plans. As a reminder, these plans remain "unbundled," allowing you to enroll dependents in any combination of medical, dental, and vision coverage.
Changes made during the open enrollment period will be effective July 1.
The Benefits Team is conducting site visits to educate staff on the changes. In addition, we will be hosting virtual meetings and Q&A sessions on the following dates and times:

Final American Fidelity Enrollment Days
The final days for American Fidelity open enrollment for the 2026-2027 year will be May 26 through May 29. Please meet with the representative to learn about the benefits of the pre-tax programs, e.g.,flexible spending accounts, supplemental insurance, etc. and to complete the enrollment or waiver paperwork. (The I.R.S. Regulations for pre-tax programs require an annual written election or waiver by employees.) If you currently have a flexible spending account and do not meet with a representative, your flexible spending account will not continue during the 26-27 year.

Tuition Reimbursement
Tuition Reimbursement is available for licensed staff. For more information, please visit the TSD Staff Portal under Human Resources and then Tuition Reimbursement.
If you have taken college or graduate-level courses from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, you can apply for tuition reimbursement of up to $1,000 for the year. Please note that this amount may vary based on the number of staff members who apply.
To apply, complete the form according to the guidelines, and include your tuition receipt along with an official transcript for the courses completed. Submit these documents via email to denise.absalom@tsd.org. Deadline for submission is June 1, 2026.
