Event Information
Pre Check Out Form Due Friday May 15!
After our upcoming capstone event, we want to ensure a smooth and safe checkout process for you and your student should you decide to check your child out after the event. Please complete the pre-checkout form by Friday May 15th. We are unable to accept submissions on the form after that date. The google form is a pre-checkout. At the conclusion of the event, you will be directed to meet your child to finalize checkout.
Additional information to help the process go smoothly and safely:
- You can only check out your own student.
- The form requires a valid email address for submission.
- Students are not permitted to check themselves out, so please plan accordingly.
- Adults listed in Infinite Campus and verified on the pre check out form will be able to check students out from DHS.
- Families who have not completed Pre Check out and want to take their child home will have to check the child out at BHMS, following normal check procedures.
- You must know the name of your child's 3rd period teacher to complete the pre check out and to check out your child at Capstone. Tables will be organized by 3rd period teacher.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
What if I decide to check my child out early after the form deadline of 5/15?
Teachers will return to BHMS with all students not checked out from the Capstone event. You may return to the school and follow standard check out procedures. In order to maintain student safety, we will not allow any student to leave DHS if they have not gone through the checkout process detailed above, even if their guardians are present at the event.
Information for the Capstone Ceremony
Prior to the Ceremony:
- If you wish for your 8th-grade student to leave the ceremony with you directly instead of returning to BHMS, please complete the Pre Check Out Form.
- 8th-grade students should report to BHMS at the regular arrival time on May 20. Following a clap-out tradition where 6th and 7th graders and teachers will cheer them on, students will walk over to DHS with their teachers.
- Parking at DHS is limited. Please use the parking garage at Agnes Scott College.
- To help you see your student and ensure a smooth dismissal, please note your child's 3rd period teacher's name and sit in the designated bleacher section for that teacher.
- The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 AM at DHS.
After the Ceremony:
- At the conclusion of the ceremony, students will be dismissed to one pre-authorized adult.
- Family members and friends not involved in student checkout are asked to exit the gym immediately after the ceremony to allow for dismissal setup.
- Once dismissal procedures begin, please promptly exit the floor area to ensure an efficient flow, as DHS will be in session for their students.
- Your patience is appreciated as we work to make the dismissal process as smooth and safe as possible for all 453 eighth-grade students.
